NWA TNA had a tough 2003 with a lack of storylines and too much focus on a power struggle for control of the company between Erik Watts and Jeff Jarrett/ Don Callis. The roster looked really weak at this point but on the positive side the weak roster made the X-Division stand out. This week we see the return of D’Lo Brown tagging up with Aj styles. A cage match featuring Raven and Abyss and an Ultimate X match. Probably the most enjoyable two episode of TNA I’ve watched in a while.

Many years ago Chris Sabin did an interview where this Ultimate X was asked about. According to Sabin the reason it was such a struggle was that, TNA didn't want the belt falling off the X. So they used electrical tape thinking it would hold the belt up without falling but would rip when he got the belt. Problem was whoever put the tape on went to town instead of just using one or two strips

​@Cooljohn760 Vince didnt bury any of the major major talent except for DDP. Sting would have probably been up there with the Flair/Hogan/Nash/Hall booking. Hall and Nash couldn't handle the injuries and addictions that they came with. Hogan had arguably one of the greatest WM matches in history with the Rock. Flair became co-owner of the entire company and ended up having a phenomenal end of career in WWE. Goldberg just didn't work because Lesnar existed and wasn't a WCW guy. Sting would have probably beat Takers streak sometime before 2011 imo if he came to WWE in 04
