Hi James, the question is - if you have that IR7 green card for three years and if you are married to a US citizen for three years, then you can go ahead and apply after 3 years, even if you didn't get the green card through marriage to that US citizen. Wait until you get your I751 approved. You can apply for citizenship if you are eligible but if they deny your I751, your N400 will get denied too so you will have to re-apply all over again. So wait until the I751 gets approved and the apply for Citizenship. If you do apply for Citizenship, make sure you send a lot of evidence including tax return transcripts.

@@varsharao86 yes but you can at least abandon a green card, it’s very difficult to abandon the latter
