What happens if a critically ill Patient can’t be weaned off the ventilator?

My mother has been on a ventilator for 6 days. They are trying to wean her off but she is having seizures. I will still pray that she gets the strength to come out of all of this. I miss her so much.

My mom is on a ventilator also. It's been 5 days. Everytime they try and decrease the sedation she starts seizing also. I hope your mom made it. I am praying for mine nonstop.

I hope your mother’s made it. My dad is on a ventilator right now they were trying to wean him and he is fighting the machine and blood pressure is skyrocketing

I wish I would’ve seen this before they told us we all had to leave the room when they pulled the ventilator I’m the baby in the family and I needed more time
