I was a survivor in childhood. I was walking barefoot. Suddenly dont know why, i just stood by my toe fingers and my head touched a line. Suddenly i was shocked. However i released myself (may be it released me) from the shock. Actually the line was cut and it was already in a good contact with a tree. The best example could be crow standing on the line wire with its both legs on same line(either neutral or line wire), where the potential difference between the two ends(two legs of crow) of a conductor is zero, so that no shock is felt for crow and it is safe.. In simple words, the human or animal gets shock only if the circuit is closed.. where the potential difference is high
