Builder's sales teams routinely offer pickup and drop-off by Ola / Uber to potential customers. This freebie is a tempting offer, especially because of the rising petrol prices and taxi costs. However, if you accept this offer, it comes with consequences on your psychology as a flat-buyer. If you are in a free taxi ride, you may fail to observe the long distances, bad road conditions, difficult traffic conditions en route to the real estate project, poor connectivity by bus and train routes, non-availability or rickshaw and taxi, etc. Your ignorance can influence your decision-making ability and you may end up buying a flat with all these issues.
Even if connectivity is not an issue, accepting a pick-up and drop off may put you in a "guest mindset" i.e. you may start wanting to please your host for giving you this expensive "gift". This can result in a dangerous error of judgement by you, as it will be difficult for you to avoid swiping your card and making a token payment.
