Good video, thanks for showing. Revoking the license/fees/lawsuits usually doesn't amount to anything; impoundment of the non-insured car would actually help enforce this. Insurance companies assume this, which is why ALL policyholders pay for uninsured/underinsured drivers, which means most of us are chumps.

SR 22 or FR44 and a few States mandate full 6 month premium in advance be paid to get the SR22 issued. the penalty is subrogation. if you didn't have insurance and a company paid anything out you don't get your license back until you pay for all damages and the not at fault driver's deductible (if no UMPD) also the FR44 means you have to have double the state minimum liability whereas the SR22 is at least state minimum. the state of Michigan is one of a kind...

There are "no fault" states. In New York, when getting car insurance you HAVE a mandatory (expensive) body harm insurance for yourself and your passengers. That alone will be $100 a month appro - as there will be no driver at fault to pay your medical bill.

I would talk with your adjuster but if they don’t have any money you can go after then you’ll end up paying the deductible. I myself would pay it if it speeds things up and get reimbursed or you’ll have to sue the other party.

I would contact them to discuss but if they won’t work with you, I would recommend hiring a lawyer. See if you have any witnesses or a camera that captured it if possible. Usually they can make a determination based on both of your descriptions of the accident. If it’s against you, you’ll want to hire a lawyer.

If their insurance covers you under permissible use, you might be ok. You would need to talk to them for advise. It’s hard to say, it wouldn’t hurt if you gave court to speak with a lawyer. If you were driving a car that was insured properly then I don’t see why they would suspend your license.

Accidents happen, they’ll likely expect you to cover any damages to the other party. It’s also matter what the other person’s insurance is. In PA, they would have bought limited or full tort. They might have limited rights to sue you. Honestly, it’s a situation you would talk out with a lawyer if it gets that far. If you want to know more, research full vs limited Tort. That will at least start you on the right path.

I’m in Texas and I was driving with no licenses or insurance and ran from the cops. I crashed into two cars and went to jail. Just recently tried to get my license for the first time at 25 years old and the lady said I have a suspension or something and need to reach out to the people and pay the damages. I’m not an expert with SR60 but I think that’s the form after you pay any damages. It might be worth getting a lawyer to help you understand the right steps to take and what options you have.

Then if you’re the at fault driver, you are responsible for paying the damage and or injuries. In a no fault state, the other person’s insured may pay their portion but they’ll come to you to be repayed to any legal limit. If you’re not at fault then you would take the steps to contact the at faults party’s insurance to get made whole again. Having insurance or not doesn’t change the person who is liable.

Sadly the policy will show the time and date you for the policy so getting insurance before court won’t cover you from when you had the accident.

I would start by contacting their insurance and see if they will pay for the damage. If not you have to ask the driver or hire a lawyer. Some states are no fault so you might be responsible for your own repair. That doesn’t mean you can’t go after the person that was at fault to try have them cover it.

I'm 19 and have had my car since 18 i was desperate and needed a car so i sucked it up and financed a cheap one. i had gap coverage and made every payment on time in full. Usually the SR22 is enough to keep your license active. If it’s your first offense, I wouldn’t expect much. Possible fine 🤷🏽‍♂️ Technically they could suspend your license but then I would be confused why they would make you file and SR22. Maybe…maybe… the would put a restriction on your license for a few months.

Court date was not as bad as I thought it would be, I was able to just pay for the ticket which was extremely expensive, I had to also make a payment plan to pay for the other persons car in order to take the suspension off of my license and my insurance went up like almost double. It’s more of a financial burden than anything

Going through an accident right now because my tire blew out while I was driving. It’s a loaned car and there was a small lapse in my insurance when the accident happened so I’ll probably not be covered at all and have to either not pay and deal with credit and potential legal lawsuits or create a payment plan for the car. Im sorry to hear that. Your best option is to consult a lawyer. I can tell you, in my experience, even though the bill is higher than expected, the odds of the insurance company having it wrong a low. They track every penny being spent. i would call the company and get a detailed/itemized list for the charges and speak with them to see if there is any error on their part. Otherwise, a lawyer will be best suited to help you fight it, if they are wrong and unwilling to correct it.

You not having insurance could creat some issues but it doesn’t change the fact that they are liable for the damage. I would expect that they will pay it 🤞🏼. Technically if they take the proper procedures, they would pay the owner of the car since you didn’t register it to you. I would get a bill of sale if you can to the date you bought it.

RELLY NEED ADVICE PLEASE! My son(19 yrs old) was in an accident it was his fault but nobody was in the car he hit. Both cars were totaled. My ex husband had him on his insurance for a couple of years but when I called him from the accident for him to provide me with the insurance information he said he had taken my son off of his policy a couple of months before because he felt it would be cheaper if my son got his own insurance. Personally I would consult a claims or personal injury lawyer but I wouldn’t deal directly with the other party if they are being unreasonable. If it’s clear your son was at fault than he’s liable, but if he’s under age, it will likely default to the legal guardian that has majority guardianship. Either case, I would let a third party or lawyer do the negotiations if you go that route to protect you for future issues. What if the guy or girl decided they’re not feeling well or injured 2 months from now?

I wish I could answer you correctly but I don’t know that part of the law. My opinion is, if they can show that you are legally supporting and or responsible for you son, I would imagine they have a footing. The hope is a lawyer can help get it resolved without conflict. It could be better to pay some now vs a lot to defend yourself

If it wasn’t your fault, hopefully you have a police report that supports this, you will need to talk to their insurance. If they won’t help you, you’ll likely want to hire a claims lawyer and sue their insurance or them for the damages.

In CA yours rates shouldn’t go up if you are not at fault. If you are accident free and you are getting insurance with a company that gives a discount for that, you will lose that discount but other than that, I don’t believe there is an issue

I have found across America that if u live in a mostly black area they already make me pay 2 to 3 times as the other zip codes an I have 2 cars one was $700 the other was 1500 an just for liability they want $140 per vehicle an they say it’s a high crime area I said ok so what more do you cover for me then ? I dont like men who drives a car without insurance. Lives in a 1,000,000 house with his family and too cheap to pay for insurance. The other guy has a car to cheap to pay for insurance. I've been in the car with them. And I always ask if they have car insurance.
