He may be more creepy, but Gabban is more intimidating. He spoke in a way that's somehow kind of almost on the line of friendly, but confident in his place as well. He's speaking like he just murdered a ton of people, putting his arm around your shoulder and saying "I just killed all these people, go tell the others, hop along now" as if he's your Uncle.

Fun fact: when you do Vulpes Inculta's quest The Finger of Suspicion involving the Omertas, you can discover that Captain Curtis is the legion spy early on. Vulpes even tells you how if you tell anyone about this, you'd be hunted down. Unfortunately, you can't go straight to Colonel Hsu and tell him about Captain Curtis.

It was meant to Vulpes, his delivery is way more intimidating in the way that he seems absent, it's like he is above you and all of this stuff. You walk into town, you see crucified people, you talk to Boxcars and he explains what happened there, this is the Legion you've been hearing so much about, you expect this people to be some super organized psychotic raiders, but they are cold. Nipton and Vulpes were my first encounter with the Legion when I first played, and it made them seems invincible and scary, an unstoppable force. I was rightly afraid of the Legion after that, I pity people that would meet Gabben the first time.

I always thought of Vulpes as kind of the true antagonist you face in the legion (even more than Caesar and Lanius). He is kind of responsible for so much of the couriers story: - he was the Caesar’s legion member that made an alliance with the twisted hairs and subsequently led the betrayal against them. Thus leading to everything Ulysses ever did! - Ulysses taught the white legs and convinced them to massacre everyone in new Canaan (leading to the events of honest hearts - He broke the think tank out of their mental loop and made the, remember what they once were, while also simultaneously saving Christine and teaching Elijah about the Sierra Madre (facilitating the events of both present day Big MT and the entire dead money DLC) - Ulysses would never have been at the divide when the courier brought the package that awoke the underground nukes, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY would likely not have caused us to be carrying the platinum chip if he had cancelled. Then of course there is everything at the divide that occurred directly at the hands of Ulysses. - besides, Vulpes is the legion character the courier often has the most interaction with, being at Nipton, the strip, and the fort. He’s also by far the craftiest and dishonorable member of the Legion.

Vulpes is dishonorable because he’s cockroach who relies on subterfuge and will do anything to get himself out of a bad or combat oriented situation, Lanius even disapproves of the Omertà plan because it would “lessen the victory”.

Not sure if you have made a video about it already, but in my current gameplay i found a little secret in Black Mountain. I don't remember exactly where it is, but i was heading west of Neil's shack and found a cliff full of beartraps and a dead NCR soldier. If you take your time disarming the beartraps a huge boulder will come down at you, which i suppose is an attempt of the super mutants to kill you. I was not using the Wild Wasteland trait btw Edit: By climbing the cliff you can see the 188 trading post

I didn't know Vulpes was supposed to meet you on the strip. Only once i have spared Vulpes in Nipton, and that was when i took a skip through Hidden valley, scorpion glutch to Novac. Of course i killed him on spot because i already knew all dialogue and thought it was Alerio (also i was doing an NCR run) Skip rating: 6/10 decent and easy, no fighting needed, just run.

I always do. I show no mercy to Caesar's Legion every playthrough. Even after you're confronted and they say what ever you've done here's a token and we'll forget your past deeds. I always killed everyone of them I see. So by the time I enter their camp I get attacked on sight. It's open season on Caesar's Legion. Honestly I don't know why people side with them. They're slavers. Just like The Pack in Fallout 4 Nuka World.

I knew about Alerio in my first playthrough. It was my Legion playthrough that I found out that Vulpes gives you the Mark of Caesar. It's almost like it was a reverse fact. "Did you know? If you DON'T blow off Vulpes' head because he's a little bitch, he shows up on the strip? He has his own lines as well."

You can totally bypass Nipton on the way to New Vegas many a ways. The Nipton encounter is not required for the main story at all.

I usually pick of the rest of the Legion forces stealthily in Nipton, not to suffer reputation loss & to still get the XP for turning in the quest. So I decided to follow Vulpes around on foot to see where he went. He went through the minefield where the ambush ontop of the hill takes place & got his legs blown up by accidently walking over a mine. lol Then he decided to go back via the train tracks to Nipton for some reason. Its also worth noting that hostile creatures or people won't attack the Legion when you follow them. Except, something odd happened. When he returned to Nipton, a caravan guard spawned in & he started attacking an already crippled Vulpes. Vulpes tried to fight back with his ripper, but since he was crippled he couldn't charge at him properly. And the caravan guard was armed with a shotgun & he blasted him away. It was one of the funniest things I saw in New Vegas in a while. This was probably the last remnant of Nipton, seeking to avenge his follow brethren & sisters. After he wasted Vulpes he said howdy to me & went on his merry way. And the quest failed. lol For anyone curious, the legion heads back to their HQ at cottonwood cove. Vulpes stands by the raft & eventually despawns.

Here's a question. Among the first time i played FNV i remember there was a cannibal encampment, somewhere on the western part of the map, and they had prisoners, named "human cattle", though it's likely i'm misremembering it. I've tried to find it again but never could. It could've been another game but i distinctly remember there being fallout npcs dressed in rags, surrounded by a chainlink fence, with a gate that was unaccessible (that i opened up via console). And it's not the Legion camp that has the slaves, the "human cattle" npcs couldn't be interacted with. Does anyone know wether this is FNV or some other game?
