For some reason, this exact video changed my mindset. I’ve been sugar free for 2 weeks and have already lost 10 pounds. I feel amazing! The first couple of days were tough but now, it’s easy. I’m also able to skip breakfast and I eat around noon now. I would’ve never thought I could do that. Ever. But look at me now! Full of energy, my waist and stomach are getting smaller, my mood is great, and my arthritis doesn’t hurt anymore. 😃. Thank you, Dr. Berg.

What does he mean by sugar free? Does that mean no more rice or pasta? (Carbs) Does that mean no more fruit?? Because I can get rid of industrial cookies, and candy’s, and sugar adding, but I will not be able to cut off carbs and fruits
@kathybeal4408
@kathybeal4408 Жыл бұрын
@@MrNoki972 for me, I stopped eating all things like cookies, ice cream, fruit like bananas and apples, and some items that had sugar added to it. I also did not eat anything processed. Also, I avoided carbs that come in things like noodles, potatoes, toast,. But I did eat vegetables and they do have natural carbs in them so I did not worry about that. The only fruit I allowed myself to have was a handful of fresh blueberries. I think he just means that the body needs to get used to not relying on processed sugar for energy. That’s why for the first few weeks, it’s good to not have any sugar if you can avoid it. It really works. 😀

I cut back on bread and switched to good bread. Quit peanut butter too. Until I find some organic natural type. Oh I dropped 6 pounds that first 2 weeks and I really didn't change what I eat to much. Now to update yesterday at the doctors office, I’ve stayed on the low to no sugar diet, I dropped my Glucose number to 91, and weighed 170 pounds. And feel like I’m 30 years old. Before Covid, I quit eating sugar for 3 months and I definitely felt better. I stopped eating rice, any chips, cola, any kinds of bread and mostly ate greens, any kinds of meat, some peanuts and healthy snacks for dessert. I also drank tons of water. Only water or ginger tea without sugar. My eczema was gone, i could breathe better, lost at least 10kg of my weight, and my skin got better.

My kidneys and liver are healed, im up and around now like a normal person and my heart is way better! I do have a faulty lower right ventricule which is causing me to drown in fluids around my heart and lungs, but i take water displacement pills which allows me to live normally, except i go to the bathroom every hour. Dr Berg, Thank you. I have been Sugar free for 3 months. (6 months now. Update 7-9-23). I feel so much better. I have a Nepherologist and Renal Dietician. Doctors never told me my kidneys were failing. My left kidney has atrophied and not functioning. Painful I might add! Would love to hear anything you can say. My right kidney keeps making stones. I learned about oxalates from you and stopped eating foods high in Oxalates. I am also now sugar free, salt, carbs, gluten, starch, fast food, packaged food FREE for 6 months now. I traded potatoes for carrots as my fav snack. Love eating cabbage and plant based protein now. Learning to do your Intermittent Fasting. It has stopped my pre-diabetic insulin spikes. I have lost 20 pounds and feeling so much better. Lost pounds 20 pounds in the first 3 months and still maintaining. My Doctors are impressed with sustainable weight loss. I still intent to lose 10 more pounds to get back to my youthful weight. Exactly as you said. My husband has now started the same Keto/Dash lifestyle changes and Intermittent Fasting. My Nepherologist said if I drink 3 liters water per day, my right kidney will be ok. My LABS just done at 6 months are all within normal ranges. Therefore, my Stage 3 CKD and 1 lost kidney is now in normal ranges and a little less frightening. My Cardiologist lowered my High Blood Pressure meds in HALF! And my High Blood Pressure went from 203/99 down to 129/81. Yea! My dark circles and puffy circles under my eyes are really clearing up! And wierdiest of all is my eyebrows had fallen out. They have fully grown back in. My hair is thicker. My skin is happier. I am taking all minerals, vitamines and all Omega in a Tocotrilenols packages. Great! I am feeling far less pain. I greatly Thank you. I went to Doctors for 10 years with NO HELP and ZERO DIAGNOSIS. NOT ONE SUGGESTION TO HELP ME WITH TREATMENT. It was needless that I had to lose my kidney. I first look up Dr Berg videos now. Now Doctors listen to me and not one challenges me as incorrect info. Love Dr Berg. 💘 🎉😊

@@SilverGummiShark right?! I recently gave up sugars for health reasons and literally everything packaged in the grocery store that I look at has some sort of hidden sugars in it. I was even eating the grilled chicken from Chick Fila for a while cus I figured it has got to be healthy...its just grilled chicken...but I was constantly wondering why all my symptoms were still flaring until I looked up the ingredients and realized there's Sugar in the marinade they use. Doctor Berg I want to thank you. I am 70 years old. I found your youtube videos a few months ago. I started on keto four months ago when my doctor told me my blood sugar was sky high, my BP was high and my heart rate was extremely high. I have lost almost 40 pounds reduced my blood pressure is down 30 points and my heart rate is down 20 points. I almost have normal body readings ( BP HR) now. My blood sugar is way down and my doctor has reduced my metformin dose. On top of that, I pulled out an old pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear in 25 years ( because I had gained sixty pounds) and they slid on easy. I was so shocked I almost cried. I practice strict keto and IF 20/4 daily. I don't really get any exercise now as three months ago I injured the inside ligaments around my knee (sprained them) but I am still loosing weight. Thank you for everything as Atkins never worked for me.

I dont miss it at all, the sugar craving literally dries up! I never knew this was possible for me. Thank you. Update: I have gone from 205 lbs to 151 lbs using intermittent fasting and staying away from sugar. From size 14/16 to size 6 (US womens). I also went from couch potato to exercising most days of the week. Walking is my main exercise but I have added in more intensity as I become fitter. Dear Dr. Berg, i want to thank you for saving my life. After working years in a very stressful, high end job, my health was detereorating very quickly. Blood pressure, kidney problems, fainting and many other symptoms. I was given all kinds of medication but that barely made any difference. Then i came across your videos and everything changed. I started fasting for longer and longer amounts of time and everybody was convinced thats what was going to kill me. After finally fasting for a full month and completely overhauling my diet, all my symptoms are gone. I am no longer overweight, i pretty much never get tired and feel full of energy at all times. My wife and kids could hardly believe my transformation at first, but even they now joined in on my new diet, even they always loved sweets and desserts. I will never be able to thank you enough.

I swear to god. I got the exact same results. I went from 90kgs to 80kgs in 6 weeks. Like for the first 4 weeks I went to 84. And then within next two weeks I lost 4 kgs more. This happened mainly because I started using MCT oil in my morning black coffee or hot chocolate made of coconut milk, cocoa powder, monkfruit sweetner and mct oil. Mct oil is an absolutely game changer.

AWESOME Timothy. These people are dime a dozen. I read a lengthy story where a journalist researched opinions on every food you could imagine. It went like, “food X, professor so and so said that is the worst thing you can eat.” Directly underneath, it had some other professor from some other university, saying that same food is the best thing you can eat. That scenario continued and took up half a page of a large newspaper. I’m 70, and I’m healthier than most my age. I have been to a doctor only once in over 40 years. I believe I eat more sugar than most other people. I’m top of that, I smoke my head off, and I eat all the stuff that health experts say I shouldn’t. These people can stick their theories where the sun does not shine.

U mom. Mentally place 'sugar' as an opiate. So, u mite want to do this: When you're daughter is hungry (false sugar craving from the 1st few days of no sugar), let her eat anything and everything until she is full - that is ABSOLUTELY VOID OF ANY SUGAR SUBSTANCE that man threw into 'food stuff'. Eat; Steaks, pork chops, cheese, eggs, butter, bacon, quinoa, sweet potatoes, etc., etc. This does 2 major things: Craves the hunger appetite (both physically and mentally) and slowly the body functions w/o the opiate commonly referred to as 'sugar'. After a week or so, she'll become less and less hungry (naturally) and she'll begin to eat - when she's naturally hungry. Her sleep will probably monstrously improve as well.

Brilliant, well done. 🤝 Can i ask does cutting out the sugar mean ALL sugars ? I usually eat fruit or drink smoothies that have natural sugars. I'm wondering if this video means cutting out processed sugars?
@1967davethewave
@1967davethewave 3 жыл бұрын
@@unchainedmentally2147 Most of the things we eat have carbs. That is the number you need to look at. Carbs convert to sugar and that is bad. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year and I had to learn how to reverse it. Fruit and smoothies aren't good. Some fruits are ok like apples and berries but most of the others have high amounts of sugars (carbs). And any drink made with fruit juice is very bad. My doctor limited me to 130 carbs a day but I self limited myself to only 90. The carbs are listed on everything. Fiber is also a part of the equation as it offsets the carb content. I always drank a lot of milk. Milk has a lot of carbs. And I was a bread, biscuit, pasta fanatic. All full of carbs. Since changing my diet I have been averaging 2lbs a week weight loss but more importantly my A1C has gone from bad to acceptable. At my last doctor's appointment I was told that I have put my diabetes in remission. I didn't even know that was a thing. And I feel better, more energetic and just plain healthier. But there is a cost. I can eat a lot of meat and of course vegetables, they are the number one thing on my diet. But sweets, breads and pastas are now only very small parts of my diet. And of course I was hungry everyday for the first couple of months. But when I was sitting there hungry I would say to myself that was good because that means I'm burning fat. The final thing I did that my doctor says is a big help is fasting. That isn't necessarily what it sounds like. It means going longer between your meal routine. I work evenings so I get up at around 10 a.m. I eat breakfast between 11 and 12. I have a snack around 4 and then eat dinner between 6 and 7. I usually eat an apple of maybe even something sweet, but small at 8 p.m. And that's it until the next day at 11 to 12. You should get a good 12 to 14 hours of fasting in. If you set your mind to it you can do it. I bought a ton of sugar free gum. When I have a craving for food or for sweets in goes a piece and that usually gets me through it. And is has become easier and easier. Just remember, you aren't going to starve if you leave the table without being stuffed full of food. Good luck, I hope my story helps you out.

On July 4th 2020 I was just shy of 300lbs at 5'9"! That day I quit drinking and went on a diet. The main thing I cut out was Sugers. We used to drink sodas and eat tons of chips and dips and sugar filled crap. I've lost 69 lbs and now weigh 222lbs!!!! And when someone offers a candy bar or anything sweet, it's almost hard to eat it. I feel amazing and can't honestly remember the last time I had a sugar craving! My diet consists of alot of he cooked meals with chicken and turkey meat, no red meat and no fast foods! That was also a huge crutch for us and I didn't realize how bad fast food actually was for me. My new life is amazing and it really shows we have a huge problem in America. My eyes have opened now to how other countries eat and how healthy they eat compared to us. We as a whole need to sit down and develop better procedures in food distribution and start Investing in getting healthier options to people. There is absolutely no reason I should be able to get a dollar large soda from McDonald's but a water bottle that is half the size Costs $2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started Atkins from reading his book when I was 16. Everyone was into low fat and low calorie and I was eating loads of meat and cheese and veggies etc. Most of my friends are obese now (we're in our 40s) and look super old etc. I'm still eating very little sugar and look like I'm in my 20s. Excess sugar causes wrinkles! I've never been on Rx, while all my friends are on countless medications. I attribute my wellness to the Atkins philosophy. In his book, he actually went to mental institutions and got mentally Ill patients to change their diets from too much sugar and they got better! The first thing nuerologists tell their patients with epilepsy to do is to remove carbs! They are finding now the role of brain inflammation associated with too much sugar/carbs and the cause of the mental health crisis in America. You can heal your brain by the foods you eat. Too many carbs, really is the root of all health issues in my honest opinion :)

@Potato tard you can't completely avoid it altogether, but you can greatly determine how much sugar you take in. Avoid processed foods. And you'd be surprised just how many things have natural sugar in them. Milk for one does. Fruits have lots of natural sugars in them. You'll get to where you don't want sweets much if at all. The easiest thing I did was to cut out sodas and sugar in my coffee. Now the only sugars I have are natural sugars that are in food and I try to limit that as much as possible. From my own personal experience, what helped me the most was quitting refined sugar altogether. Good luck.

Now, I don't eat till 2 or 3 pm, because I simply don't feel hungry till then. My waistline has already dropped 3 inches! Thank you, Dr Berg. Dinner is variable... I love salmon on a salad with ceasar, or chicken with walnuts, goat cheese, basil leaves and some blueberries. If I feel extra hungry, I will have some grassfed keifer, or a few pieces of cheese. Usually that is enough, along with alot of cream in my coffee drinks! @Isha the natural sugars are okay as a compliment to your balanced healthy diet. A bit of fruit after a whole food meal isn't going to hurt because you need some of those simpler carbs to aid in energy production to digest the complex food. The biggest thing I've learned is nothing with added sugar is the rule which keeps you from eating any refined sugar or processed foods. You'll feel amazing I promise.
