I mean, seriously? Beating Medoh immediately after Naboris was a huge mistake. And also beating Naboris after Ruta with little experience was a mistake, I thought the boss would have been just like Waterblight aaaand... It wasn't. Still, I love Revali as well, and I really appreciate what you learn about him after beating Medoh and stuff, and it's ability is so freaking useful.

Actually, you can =P There is a brief time window between defeating the Blight and activating the Main Control Unit in which you can simply teleport away. In that case, the Blight stays dead (and won't appear in the Boss Rush) but the respective Champion isn't free yet (and therefore won't appear in the cutscene, nor will the Divine Beast fire its laser). A big downside of this is that you won't get the respective Champion Ability nor will you actually clear the quest or gain any rewards / unlock follow-up features. If you, for example, kill Thunderblight but then warp away without freeing Urbosa, you won't get Urbosa's Fury or the Scimitar of the Seven & Daybreaker, Riju won't give you the Thunder Helm, and you can not start the Sand-Seal Racing minigame for the shrine quest.

It will start at Vah Ruta. Something I noticed was that, regardless of order of being freed and always in this order, it will play Vah Medoh, then Ruta, then Rudania, then Naboris. If you haven't freed, for example, Ruta, the cutscene of the other three firing will still play in the order I just described in the previous sentence ago, but without Vah Ruta.

This game and New Super Mario; I wish finishing the main quests put the castle in a post-boss state. You've vanquished the ultimate foe, you can go back to where he's not there and clear out the rabble, or finish up side-quests now that the land is free from the blight. Then have an option to reset the castle if you want to replay the final main quest.

You can actually kill windblight in one hit if you do this, you have to shoot an arrow in a specific spot and then immediately start the cutscene, the arrow will hit him during the cutscene and then when the actual battle starts all his health will drain immediately

I accidentally did this with one divine beast (Ruta) once. I was a newbie to the game. Saw Hyrule Castle, thought it'd have good weapons so I went there. My dumb butt walked straight into the Calamity Ganon fight, initiating the cutscene. I shit my pants mate. Had to fight the rest of the blights and then C-Ganon. @@CapitalMort same. I basically did the castle right after the fourth devine beast with the mindset of, "ah, fuck it. Let's just see what happens," and was a bit underwhelmed at the difficulty. Intense? Absolutely. But I was the same as you, only ate one or two items, wore 3-star ancient gear, didn't even stock up on arrows before starting, and still took him down without dying. Lynels were way more challenging and dangerous than ganon felt to me.

Ganon was a challenge for me although I found it was more a battle of endurance than skill - hit enough times and he's dead 😆 I had 14 hearts. I shot him in the face but most shots didn't do anything. Then I realised I could do better damage if I used the divine beast powers. When you use Urbosas fury and any of the other powers it makes Ganon vulnerable and you can get really good damage before he comes back to invincible mode.

Prone like that he is easy pickings. Other than that it is a simple matter of learning his patterns. The blights were tougher fights.

Each beast deals 500 damage to ganon. A guardian blast, when repelled to the guardian, deals 500 damage. The divine beasts aren't worth it.

I cleared all 4 divine beasts but still had to face waterblight I think, before Zelda says she can't hold him back any longer. Though all 4 divine beasts did activate. A weird experience I didn't take much note of until now

They should have made it so that instead of just lowering his health, the divine beasts deactivated some of his abilities. He'd have new ones that are really strong and you only see them if you chose to not do the divine beasts

I always thought that Ganon should get more powerful the more blights you defeated, giving you incentive to get to the castle quickly. Of course freeing the heroes makes you more powerful too, so it’s kind of a catch 22. I think that makes for much more interesting gameplay.

As long as you have the full rubber armour set and upgrade it twice Thinderblight Ganon isn’t too bad, it’s just annoying when you don’t lock on fast enough before he moves

You have to fight every Blight that you did not yet kill, yes. If you want the "full" Boss Rush of all 4 Blights, then you have to skip all 4 Divine Beasts.

Thank you! I was curious. Also of note: If, after beating the blight rush and defeating ganon, you go back to cleanse the divine beasts, they'll still be there even tho your game is marked "completed" with the star and all that.

Ganon is also still there. It says Completed, but it basically sends you back to the pre-endboss point.

When I first beat Ganon, I only had Vah Medoh and Vah Naboris cleared. I'm suprised by the amount of people in these comments that didn't know about this, but I suppose that's just part of the beauty of this game: everyone goes about their adventure differently.

Without ANY Divine Beasts - yes. That's even a somewhat common speedrun. But I couldn't find any footage of a "half done" scenario - all videos I was able to find either had zero Divine Beasts done or all four of them, and the redditor in question was specifically asking for what it would look like if only _some_ of the DBs were cleared.

Chestpiece & trousers of the regular Ancient Set from the Akkala Tech Lab plus the "Vah Naboris Divine Beast Helmet" from the Urbosa amiibo. I like that design a lot more than the regular Ancient Helmet, and it still activates the set bonus.

I completed the game without completing any divine beasts and i did this. I had a lot of Lynel and Ancinet Weapons so the blights weren’t that hard. The Calamity however, was pretty hard, but i beat it.

@@ortherner It just takes practice. Maybe just try Great Plateau Any%. You just have to get the paraglider. Looking at the leaderboard, you technically would still be on it if you took less than 55 minutes! That wouldn't be insanely hard.

I glitched my game and maxxed all my hearts and stamina vessels out with the cursed statue, went and got the master sword, bolted torwards the divine beasts, slaughtered them, went straight to gannon and murdered him.
