"Rehab" is worthless to everyone except a sociologist who's recording data. No one can be "helped" by rehab. Behavior can only be changed by the person himself/herself. Texas being the last sovereign nation to join. In fact, Texas worked it out so that they can leave the union without requiring a vote from US Congress. They can make that decision in State and it is legally binding. Many others claimed sovereignty but it wasn't reconized So you think the EU should have the same laws in all countries that are part of their Union? Oh and some crimes have federal jurisdiction. That means the sentencing is the same no matter the state it occurred in. It's important to understand that you are a citizen of your state and your state is part of the Union. It used to be that people considered themselves more so a state citizen. Automobiles and trains changed that as people began to travel more and further. No matter our perception, the Constitution of Our Union has hardly changed. Most changes were objectively better and necessary to protect the core, unchanging aspects. Like The Bill of Rights.

@@waltlock8805 Far not. That would be a world of beings who are intelligent enough to understand that the existence of each depends on all of the others, and this recognition motivates them to do their best for the source of their safety and happiness: for the global community, and, of course, to do nothing that can harm that source. I am not religious at all (I am a "believer" of the empiric sciences), but I think this is what the so called 2nd commandment - by Jesus when debating with the pharisees, trying to teach them - is about as well: "(...) Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." [Matthew 22. 37-40]. This, I think, is the very same recognition I spoke above that could transform the civilization of the planet to an integrated, healthy and - I have no doubt - happy, living organism. The cells of your body do something like that, too, and they don't need guns at all when working for all the other ones, just to be safe in a healthy and strong body which only can be possible if they are not contestants but respectful and unselfish, maybe loving coworkers who are in contest exclusively with themselves. But as I told earlier, no one has to worry because the main condition of such transform barely will be given before our civilisation collapses. Unless that badass Betelgeuse goes supernova even in good time and causes a mutation that transforms us to intelligent beings and stops us debating about money, guns, recless contests and devastating wars that are just for getting all of that and forcing them to our own properties. These attitudes and this behavior, although come from our original, primitive nature, are not too intelligent and soon will cause the final end of our civilisation, which, I am sure, cannot be a topic of any debate anymore. Till then, good luck to apply yourself for more (than others). :)

I’m a 73yo Australian and I can’t recall a school shooting here in my lifetime. In 1996 after the largest mass shooting in our history (35 dead and 23 injured at an historical tourist site) our government of the time did a buy-back programme for all weapons, including an amnesty on all illegal guns which was highly successful. We can still buy guns but the difference between us is we need to have a crime free record plus no mental conditions and a gun safe is required by law. Now, as a result, we are probably one of the safest nations on the planet for gun crime. For you, you need to realise that as long as you place your right to bear arms ahead of the safety of your children, these mass slaughters will continue. We Aussies just don’t get, the NRA won’t help you, they want you to buy more!!!
