idk if its just me, but the idea of the entity ripping survivors out of their lifes, sometimes at the highest point, sometimes at the lowest, dooming them for an eternal torment saddens and scares me

The devs never expected DBD to balloon into what it has now and that's why it wasnt until Descend Beyond that they finally started an actual plotline with the Black Vale cult. So, I think that if they ever do provide an ending, say in a story mode, not every original survivor should make it out. I could see ones like Adam, Jane, and David sacrificing themselves for real if it ensured the freedom of the others because that would be them accepting their real-world deaths. This would give more realism and impact to the story as a whole. It will be very sad however that many of the licensed survivors will go back to being alone though. ☹️

The mobile game cutscenes confirm that the survivors and killers of the game are all characters that eventually escape the Fog. That’s why the observer was looking at their memories, he was trying to figure out what made them all different.

Interestingly, I think it's been datamined that in Fengs tome she actually would've died in a car accident. Her alcoholic impairment caused her to crash and kill her team, who were all in the car with her. This is when she would be taken. Really sad stuff though!
