Just withdrawn consent. The alien will then respect the paw and leave.

That would make a great comedy sketch. Xenomorphs having to attend classes on consent awareness.

"River of Pain" that alone sounds like a badass black metal album from Norway in 1989. If they ever did a crossover for this id be amazed but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Alien would really work in my eyes

the comic mentioned here, further novelised by Labyrinth, includes the story of someone existing within the hive, learning all about it. So you might be interested in that

very interesting about the stinger tail... in aliens when bishop gets impaled by the queen, there is a stinger shown.... when the queen is dropped down the loading hatch and is flailing around under the power loader , the tail has no spike on the end.... have always wondered about that.... maybe theres a missing or unshot scene where the powerloader cuts it off, as it would have been too easy for the queen to sting Ripley when she was climbing out the loading hatch

In the novelization of Aliens Gorman passes out bc of a stinger tail instead of hitting his head. Edit: yeah just reached that part of the video too😂

In aliens I would have at least afew of granades and once I had the chance I would pull those pins and hope for the best.

Why do the aliens even need a host? They burst out so quickly and don’t seem to eat the carcass. Also in the original film the chest burster grows from a little worm like thing into a full sized alien in what just seems like a matter of days without even eating anything. That always seemed like a plot hole to me that could have been fixed by putting the whole crew back to cryosleep then mother waking them up because the John Hurt character’s sleeping pod is broken open and his body has been eaten.

Sometimes they eat the body Also it's simple, they're parasites, it's how their species are made. They need hosts to grow in

My guess is that there were so much to the lore that got cut off due to budget & time & pressure from the studios. The life cycle is very interesting and so much got ignored in favour of cheap thrills and scares to make it more of a horror than a sci-fi movie. As a biologist / ecologist I spent time linking the Xenomorph's life cycle with known 'bugs' on earth and making allowances for 'alien' technology and biomehanoid engineering. So, the larval stage (chestburster) doesn't need flesh to 'eat' as they absorbe all the nutrients form the tissues & blood of the host. They also need the organic material to re-print the DNA and generate a new adult hybrid by incorporating bits from the host into the new adult stage. As they contain nano particles which enables the construction of the mechanical aspects of the morphology , what they absorbe is enough and that's why we saw Cain feeling very hungry when he awoke from his coma.

@@Sci-Fi_Quizshow But in the original film the time taken for the chest burster to turn into the full sized seven/eight foot alien is negligible, a day? They start searching straight away so It’s hard to tell isn’t it? My point is, what did the creature eat after it burst out in order to grow so fast in such a short time? It can’t form itself out of nothing. I think the more logical thing to do would be to put the crew back into hyper sleep after the face hugger falls off and then have them woken up by mother a few weeks (or even months) later in the voyage because of some emergency caused by the alien only to find John Hurts (and even one of the other characters) cryo tube broken open with his body eaten or missing. It would have been a simple plot change that would do away with the problem of the alien forming itself in no time and out of nothing. I agree with you in that they probably thought of all this but went for the shock of the chest bursting scene anyway.

Regardless of whether the Xenomorph is purely biological, or biomechanoid hybrid (bioengineered with mechanical exoskeleton) a cattle prod with 50,000 Volts is probably enough to stun the beast and render it inactive / docile for a few miniutes or hours. Ballastic weapons are leathal but incure the vastly damaging spill of the creatures acid blood. Alternatively, posion gas, or an appropriate disruptive electromagnetic field / projected microwave beam can penetrate the thick armoured exoskeleton, damage its internal physiology/biochemistry / neurophysiological funstions enough to render it 'unconscious' long enough to trap it and dispose of it. Clearly flame throwers were used effectively in the first Alien and in Alien Isolation so that works and could have given the crew more options in containment / deterrance? Even an EMP grenade or a concussion grenade would be fine, without causing any physical damage to external body layers to cause bleeding?

When I watched the first movie I assumed it was only the facehuggers that had acid blood to make it harder for other people to interfere. I was kinda surprised when it turned out in Aliens that even the adults had it.
