In the high-pressure world of naval aviation, few situations are as critical as encountering a missile on your tail. It's a moment of intense focus, where split-second decisions and razor-sharp execution can mean the difference between a triumphant return and a fiery demise.
For a Navy fighter pilot, facing a locked-on missile triggers a well-rehearsed sequence. The pilot's mind races through a whirlwind of calculations and memories. What type of missile is it? Can a fighter jet withstand a missile hit? What are the escape routes for the pilot?

Talking about how tough aircraft are.............. there was an Israeli F-15D piloted by Markia Schakim that collided with another Israeli aircraft, a Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. The Skyhawk almost completely sheared off the wing of the F-15D, but because the Eagle's design and the ability of the pilot to manipulate the engines, the crew managed to land their aircraft safely.

Great work by the way mate, you have a fantastic channel here, I really enjoy it... well done mate!!! For NATO and it's partners It depends on which aircraft you are in and what type of sensors are in the nose of the missile really. If you're in a 4th Gen aircraft, you have ECM, flares and chaff and your talent as a pilot. For some 4th++ Gen and 5th Gen aircraft, you're going to have the same as the other 4th Gen aircraft but you will also have towed decoys to deceive the missile that has been fired at you.

Great video. Any high g turn, evasive maneuver and counter measures if you are unlucky to have with a missile on your six. I cringe when I see an aileron roll in movies. Useless maneuver, no change of flight path. Best to be on the other guy's six! :)
