And for free to play games, whales are the ones, who covers those of us who spend minimum or those who spend nothing. If you can simply just make a game adjustments and keep it going on new champs? Ofcourse, skins make the show more enjoyable, but they are not only created for this purpose. And Riot is not giving esport support it does to promote esport it self. But because in China and Korea (one of the most important gaming markets in the world), esport is watched and popularised much more than in Europe or America. They can use esport there to promote the game. Also Riot has a team, that plays the game themselves. Which makes them (in my opinion) one of the most self-aware and player friendly company in the world who want to have that comunity esport experience. Still, they have the need to make almost unobtainable skins BECAUSE of the money whales have. This is one of the longest YT comments I've ever written, but man, do you even know, how the economics and gaming industry works?

Funny story, I once had an account that had all skins as well. Riot gives you a free skin of choice that's not obtainable anymore then. For example Pax TF. I sold it for roughly 1300€ because I needed money at that time. The account got banned a few months after that because of account trading and the guy wanted his money back. (He never got it back).

But that was enough for a perm ban, no chat restriction or anything. Not that I disagree with my account being permed there but still shows that you can pretty much get insta perm banned.

And finally it is just for the view. Furthermore you can actually get all skins, and yes even the ones you have to buy with gems. It takes you time, but it is possible. Metin2 is the best trainer if you have no patience.
