Scam graphics card listings are all over eBay! But surely nobody would buy from them, right? Well, I bought from an eBay scam listing, but it went a little differently to how you might expect... So this is the story of what happened!

I just made a purchase for a Palit rtx 4090 for $950 (free shipping). The seller has only 4 reviews but real pics of the product were shown and he also provides 30 days money back and it's being shipped within the states. I'm not worried if it's a scam because I have both Ebay and Paypal protection. Will see what happens. I truly hope it pans out.

Just recently I got scammed off eBay for two GT 730s, I received graphics cards one of which didn't work right out of the box the other was listed as fake in GPUz so I messaged the scammer and asked why on earth would you fake a GT 730? they tried to play it off as the distributer did it not them. Then tried to give me a partial refund. I stuck to my guns and escalated it up the chain to eBay and got all my money back. What the scammer had done was use a GT 520 and flashed them to read as GT 730s still not sure why though, GT 730s are not for gaming.

One way to know of scam or not, eamil the seller , ask a question, if je eamil you back its unlikely to be scam, because scammers usually use a new email each time the start scam so they dont check their email. Also pay attention to when they started ebay, if 2021[this year] it properly a scam but if years ago its unlikely.

Great to know. Here is what I check for : 1)feedback 2) Time the seller is on ebay, I like to see more than a year. 3 ) always contact the seller with a questio to see how a response is made (does it seem real or computer generated). THanks for this video.

There's a reverse version of this scam too. A buyer will pay for the GPU; Start a return request for whatever reason; Return either nothing or something completely different and get a refund.

Yeah I found a 4080 brand new for $570USD...they have hundreds of positive reviews at 100% positive feedback but the card usually goes for $1200USD but idk if it's legit. I mean they allow refunds so would it be risk free to purchase it?

I have had a scam attempt on someone trying to purchase what i was selling. They didnt ask any questions and insisted that they were busy with work and that they were not home. They wanted me to pay 100 euro in the form of a gift card to pay the courier service. This was sketchy (the courier service was yodel)

Ebay could change their system like if you trying to upload and sell your item ebay can ask your id number etc and there should be 1 time warning with like 200 usd fee and if you try again to scam then its going to be jail

The wish cards either use gf106 (gt450) or gf116(gtx 550ti) so if the price matches these cards then I suppose you getting a good deal. You are testing the cards the wrong way. The bios flash used to Change the name on PC info is made for windows. Use Linux and wine. Play a game that asks you to choose your card. (Max Payne 2) whala 550ti
