For mystery dungeon they're actually holding the b button and it makes you wait a turn (so it's not quite doing nothing), and if you stay on the same floor for too long then the wind happens and you get defeated.

So fun fact (and possible spoiler) : The devs of Far Cry 4 consider the secret ending (which you get by going AFK at the start of the game when Pagan Min asks you to stay and enjoy the food) the canon ending because they consider it it's the most common thing anyone would do IRL, not getting involved in a revelion war and just do what you came to do

Ahhh but I have to mention the battle against Famed Mimic Gogo in Final Fantasy V. The dude mimics all of your moves with ohko counterattacks, but tells you he'll admit defeat if you prove you learnt the art of mimicking. He doesn't do any action by itself. Mimic him for about two minutes and you win.

You basically start the whole campaign if you explore the mansion. If you stay still when Pagan Min asks you to stay and enjoy the food for a few minutes you actually get the secret (and most likely canon) ending

It happens only during the boss battle if you save and come back after a certain amount of days. Para-Medic even warns you that you might not wanna save in that area. If you wait not long enough, there's another cutscene of Snake waking up and getting shot by The End, and you wake up all the way back in Granin's Lab
