It sucks for property owners because it puts them in a bind. They let 5 cool guys that pickup trash ride its all good. Then 5 goons come and put more trash back and it screws everyone. People suck. We used to ride at a place called Wellsville all the time. It was great. Now it’s a dump. Trash everywhere. Beer cans and bottles all over. SxS peeps are the worst. I miss the old days of just bikes and quads and some rail buggies.

Maine resident over here. Same thing happened to us with snowmobiles. There like 4 tracks in the state now, and a lot of the good " free riding " spots are off limits due to property owners sick of goons. Hefty fines and they will even tow your sled to the road.

gotta be real here. crappin all over land is what i've seen as a rule in America. Just look at the trash after a national. It's not just riders, but shooting spots, and anything where people go out esp in the stix, they just dump stuff.

Many of the people commenting on this post have never actually been to or have seen the hills Patrick is talking about. It’s essentially public land but it’s sort of a checkerboard of properties owned by the county and some private owners, and riverside county has a hard no off-road vehicle policy. Yes, some plots of the land in those hills are owned (many of them by foreign holding companies that likely are just spec investors) but frankly much of it is essentially public land which the state says we can’t use for whatever we want, because California. It’s really quite silly, and If you went there you would likely agree.

Have these guys ever heard of landshark? Its an app that displays land maps, as well property parcel boundaries, the lagal owners names, and any recent property tax information regarding the particular property you zoom in on. Say some guy gets caught pulling a firearm on someone while "gaurding his land" and ends up not even owning the land. That guy is in way more trouble than the guy riding the dirtbike.

I only really see two viable options for freeriding. One is private property trail systems with waivers, entry fees, etc. The other is the hardcore freeriders (like Pat here) have to police these places themselves so they at least have a leg to stand on if they're confronted/caught. "Listen. I know we're not supposed to be riding out here, but we just gave a few people the boot because they were leaving a bunch of trash all over the place" would be interesting response. It's almost like the riders can act as private secuturity for the land owners as long as they can ride there. You could even take Jase with you and have him whip out some nasty jiu jitsu skills.

Damn has Patrick never ran from the cops or he pleading the 5th? Lol it’s not that big of a deal, cops should be focusing on real crime anyways

There's no way around it. I live in NC so there's not even a hill ride scene out here and nowhere to shovel jumps or anything like that so I'll just be riding trails in places I've never even rode before and the cops will pull up and hop out. Always terrified of them impounding my bike but thankfully it's pretty easy to get away through the woods

I went riding out there after a big fire back in like 2006. It was crazy! Like riding in hell. Everything was all black and charred. I tried running from a Ranger while I was on a 125. He caught me no problem but was cool. Enjoyed the chase and told us we couldn’t camp there. It’s getting all built up now. It sucks! Nothing but a bunch of Karen’s moving in complaining about stuff that’s been going on out there for the last 30 years!!

I like having sick places to ride but if a land owner doesn't want you doing it on their property well that's it you can't. You don't have any right to be mad at them or upset when they payed millions for the land and you were trespassing. I think it's always a good idea to ask permission there are apps that tell you who owns what nowadays.
@Tocco6093 ай бұрын
I don't think anyone gets mad at the owners, it's cat and mouse and as old as time. Most dudes don't care, if you get lifeflighted they will say you trespassed.
