Leprosy comes in two major forms, tuberculoid leprosy and lepromatous leprosy, with a spectrum of disease in between the two forms depending on how the immune system responds to the bacterium. The description you are referring to is that of the tuberculoid form, the milder form of the disease. It is characterized by macules (flat, hypopigmented (and thus the whiteness they are referring to), distinct areas of skin) which may become desensitized if the bacterium also invaded the peripheral sensory nerves. The more damaging and contagious lepromatous form is the one seen in most pictures and videos (like this one) on leprosy which is much more disabling.

Trace asks what would Jesus do (3:16 - 3:19) about leprosy? Answer: Apparently, he would nothing except to allow leprosy to fester for a large part of human history until human ingenuity found a cure for it 1900 years after his death.
@philsednev8 жыл бұрын
apparently you haven't read the Bible. cause He clearly healed a bunch of people with leprosy.
@admiralthrawnstein99438 жыл бұрын
And if he was so powerful and caring why didn't he cure EVERYONE with leprosy?
@UglyAssMofo8 жыл бұрын
I'm not going to believe something just because it's in a book. He didn't "clearly" do anything. Were you there? No? Then you can't impose anything from the bible as fact. It is not a historical document, it's a theistic text which by the way can't be "the word of God" due to it's countless transcript errors because in case you didn't realize it, way back then books had to be copied by hand. You can believe in whatever you want but my main concern is that you are talking down to this man as if you had definitive evidence Jesus healed a "bunch" of people with leprosy, and apparently your only source of morality (I.e. The one reason you're not crucifying anyone who doesn't believe what you do) is an ancient text written by the same "merciful" God who allows slavery and the stoning of unruly children.
@philsednev8 жыл бұрын
yet your throwing all of these "facts" at me yet you still haven't read the bible. read it for me and then start arguing cause you clearly don't know what your talking about
@alphacause8 жыл бұрын
Philip Sednev I have read the Bible, and I have read the history behind its formation, and I am well versed in the apologetics used to bolster its credibility. I am fully aware that Jesus is PURPORTED to have healed leprosy, along with a host of other illnesses, including blindness, epilepsy, and paralysis. However, given what I know about the Bible's formation, and the failure of Biblical apologetics to legitimize its claims, I am justified in doubting the claims about Jesus that are made in the Bible. The fact that you can assume that I haven't read the Bible, based off of what I said is a bit presumptuous of you. Secondly, if Jesus was God incarnate, it stands to reason that he should have just vanquished leprosy off of the face of the planet, instead of just confining his healing to a small group of people during the narrow span of his earthly existence. At the very least, given his supposed omniscience, he should have imparted the scientific knowledge to humanity to allow us to come up with immunizations or cures to leprosy, not to mention every other disease that has plagued humanity. The fact that he did not do this, when this would be a reasonable expectation, illustrates that he was either malevolent or incapable - either scenario indicating that he was not who the Bible claims that he is.

Dengue virus has 3 different serotypes,you can get infected by one at a time,if you get infected a subsequent time by another serotype,the chances of your illness progressing to Dengue Haemorrhagic fever (DHF) or Dengue shock Syndrome (DSS) increases,both of which have a high mortality despite interventions. 95% are immune? Dang thats like 450 million people who are still susceptible to the disease. How do you know if you are immune or not? (I havent finished the video so if this question gets answered, my bad)

Y'all should do a video on if and how the poles shifting affects the human brain if it even does.

you did a great job of making leperosy not look so bad... seriously are you trying to be informative or be monetized?

Oh please I'm african and I've never in my life seen anyone with leprosy, reason why I was curious and searched for this video.

You ask what would Jesus do? He would say repent of your sin, and call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved. Saved from what? eternal separation from God. Only by His grace and mercy you become saved. Born again, transformed from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light

Yeah sure. Best thing to cure leprosy is to end the stigma around it. Not to provide adequate hygiene and nutriton in the areas where it can be found or giving the affected access to proper medical care. Just tell everyone to be nice to each other and the problem will solve itself.
