@@Fyrlian Yes, FAT32. The 3DS has to index the SD card from what I've heard when booting up, or say booting into different modes. This takes much longer with higher capacity SD cards. When you increase the allocation unit size, or cluster size, the boot times of the card speed up. Although at 1.5TB, even when using the maximum allocation unit size for FAT32 (65536 bytes), it's still going to be slow asf. I can imagine it taking around a minute of booting into the system. Hope that makes sense!

Oh by the way i tested out the (one.Five tb sd card) and found out twilight menu will not work on this sd card size. By the way i had my second ds on all night with twilight menu just to see if it would run and it doesn't run all your gonna see is a white screen. I did this for testing. Edit Everyone I'm talking about a (one point five tb sd card) I am putting it in words and I'm not talking about a five tb sd card which doesn't exist yet lol maybe in the future.

I will never stop playing my 2ds xl; I love the system so much. This is my opinion but my favorite system from Nintendo is the 3ds/2ds's all the way. (Yes i owned a Nintendo switch before it's not for me and i will give the system another chance whenever the Nintendo switch 2 releases) My feelings and I'm not against anyone who likes the switch at all; Play the system that you love or makes you happy. I'm happy with my 2ds xl and laptop.

32gb was the max that was planned for the system as that had the most optimum load times and the most storage one would reasonably use since most games are less than 2gigs. And price wise when these consoles came out, including their ‘new’ upgraded consoles, 32gigs was about the same price as a game 128 and 250gigs was pushing $100 and about the same price as the console. Plus on top of that the system has a maximum render of 300 games for the Home Screen, much like the vita.

I think the max you should get is a 128gb as anything over that can cause graphical issues with DS and GBA games. The only reason to go to a New 3DS XL is if you would use 3D. Hope this helps
