A good position there, Even if it just gives 4% dividend growth long term, long term inflation is just 3%. So, that’s still solid. As long as those divvies keep increasing, even in a recession.That's all you needs.

2 options: Have a realistic outlook on what your retirement and retirement age is going to be with a lower amount and minimal lifestyle to live on Or power save now to make up time. It really comes down to your goal. Having said that most do not need nearly as much to live off of if a few things happen. Have a paid off Car and house. Those 2 things are anywhere for 30-50% of most peoples incomes. Just having those 2 things along with no CC debt will get you far. Start with what you need, then the timeline and from there you will know how much to save/invest. And remember the first $100k is a bitch
