That's fantastic! 'Queensland Agriculture' has a video on espaliered mango trees in a grove! Chris from Truly Tropical also has a hedge of interspersed Neelum and another mango variety.

It's possible to grow trees together, the key is to 1. have the right combination of plants together. ecosystems supplement each other to survive 2. for the same species keep them pruned, especially while they are still young to maintain a sustainable structure while growing.

I have two mango trees planted close together ( 2 ft apart) ,it's been 10-11 yrs and is now 25 ft (it's grown straight ) in height and the individual trees have most of their branches on one side and when looked from afar looks like one big tree.Dont know

@@maabrar8577 I would definitely recommend a slightly wider spacing -5-6 ft space .

Not to mention the root system intertwining with each other being how close they are to one another. When he goes to remove one, he’ll likely damage some of the roots putting multiple trees in shock, if not, damaging them.

It helps to plant same variety in the row together if they are properly spaced. The maangement He did go very wide on the inter-row width looks like 30 feet. If they were 20 or 25 feet the new trees could have been spaced farther in the rows. Close spacing drives trees upwards growing forcing ever faster vertical growth and loss of lower limbs and production.

Thanks for that tour of the farm showing spacing. I have some trees at 20ft and others at 14-15ft. Some seedlings at 10ft to see what will come out. I like picking Alex's brain also, he is a wealth of knowledge.

In Hawaii the mango trees are giants but they are already in the decline in production.

People don’t realize that mango trees get really big. Even dwarf varieties with proper nutrition will get large.
