@amybooth19932 жыл бұрын
Yes. I use an intimina menstrual disc and have never had leaks during the night. I don't know how much you know about them but when you insert a menstrual disc you slide it backwards and tuck the front end up above your pubic bone to create an airtight seal. The intimina one is also usable during sex and have never had any leaks with that either. The only issue with the disc is that it isn't suitable if you have a lower cervix as it sits higher than a menstrual cup. I have no experience with other discs that are less reusable than the silicone one that I currently use, but I imagine that they don't differ that much. The only drawback with the Intimina is that it comes with a lot of unnecessary hard plastic packaging.

@niquaj2 жыл бұрын
It’s supposed to do that, that’s the beauty of our vagina , your cervix moves throughout your period. So I recommend practicing when you’re not on just to get the feel of it. Keep in mind that when your cervix moves it means the cup will move with it. So for example ME, in the beginning of my period. My cervix is low , so it’s easy for me to remove the cup. But towards the end of my period, my cervix moves up higher so I have to work harder to removed my cup because it’s further up in there. So I sometimes have to use my whole hand. But remember DONT FREAK OUT. When you do ,you tense up so your vagina will basically make it harder to remove it.

Like simple things like that I'm happy the cup works for you but like I said before I'll just happily stick to my tampons

@@cassandrajohnson6470 It's great that tampons work for you. I'm not using a cup as it never worked for me. I use a reusable DISC now. It really changed my life for the better. I never thought there would be something easier to use than a tampon. Most people don't know about discs. I wish I would have known about it and that they existed way earlier in my life. If you love tampons and you are not afraid to touch yourself you would love a disc. Maybe you wanna try one day. But great the tampons work good for you right now.

Can anyone tell why are there holes in menstrual cups?
@stephie1992102 жыл бұрын
To help with suction which keeps them in place in the vaginal canal.
@carliemichalak56822 жыл бұрын
They are responsible for creating suction so that blood doesn't leak past the cup. When the cup fills up with blood, the air-pressure inside the cup increases and is released through the holes. If the holes are clogged, the pressure cannot be released and the blood finds another way to flow: Around the cup.

Heavy flow folk, wear period underwear as a back up at night (or during the day). 👍👍

Where would you recommend buying a cup? I forget about tampons easily, and pads are annoying.
@katharina1788 Жыл бұрын
Period Nirvana has a website with a quiz and an online shop. She sells all the recommended brands. Cups and discs. I highly recommend a disc instead of a cup. It's so much easier. Especially because of auto-dump. It changed my life for the better.

I leak the moment I stand up from a sleeping position 😭 I think I need a bigger size
@PeriodNirvana2 жыл бұрын
When this happens it's usually because the muscles relaxed enough that a cup that fits well during the day is just a little too narrow for nights. A cup with a larger diameter for overnights is an option or a menstrual disc, since they don't rely on muscle tone to stay in place. This is a question on my quiz on periodnirvana.com if you want suggestions there.
