I am a mother of 2 autistic children. My son was diagnosed at 3yrs old he is moderate ASD. He learns by watching videos. He learned how to correctly ride on amusement rides because of videos. Watching travel videos helps him see what a place looks like ahead of time so that it's not so stressful when he gets there. Knowing now that your autistic you will realize things in your past that now makes since so don't worry about that. Your doing great and I love watching you. So just stay being you.

@@mitchellschmidt7885yes! U are right! I am a mom to 2 boys...both from the same father. My 14yo is completely "normal" actually advanced for his age. He was reading at an 8th grade level in 3rd grade. My other son is 10 n has ASD with intellectual defecit disorder..easiest way to explain it is that he functions like a 3yo with moderate autism. Their half brother (with the same father) has EXACTLY the same diagnosis as my 10yo but he is 20 but functions more like a 10yo with moderate autism. Bless everyone out there caring for someone with ASD❤

Thanks for being so open with all of us. You don't have to but I am happy you do because you have become part of our family here. Like you mentioned, my mom is one of those people that can't leave the house so traveling is something we do through your channel. I am her only caregiver so I took cannot travel like I used to. I miss my traveling days. I used to work for Ringling Bros Circus and traveled city to city by train. It was a great experience that I miss a lot. So thank you for all you do! @@shawnmorris5693 my non-verbal autistic son is 28. He was diagnosed back when all people knew about autism was from the movie Rainman. So saying "autistic people" is kind of an old school way of saying it. I've given up trying to be current on the labels. I think they got rid of aspergers and now have 3 levels of autism? Also people say neurodivergent. It's alot for some of us to keep track of. I just try to care for my son as best as I can. That's the important thing. Also since he is nonverbal I'm pretty sure he doesn't even know what autism is. And that's probably for the best. He is just himself.

@@jameeselah9728There was a "thought" a while back that you were supposed to label them a person first and autistic second. So you should say they are a person with autism instead of an autistic person. Shrug and eye roll.

Jacob, you ARE very important to every single one of us. i'm sure you hear this a lot. you were our friend and sanity through the pandemic. your videos were an escape and a breath of fresh air while the world lost it's mind and you managed to stick with your itinerary and not lose us in the trivial bickering we sadly encountered too often when we had nowhere to go and the daily news was just bonkers. and we've watched you go through some changes, you've shared your own personal matters with us to help us understand how thing here and there would be different on your channel than what we've grown used to. and really, you've opened up to us about a lot more than we've needed to know because you seem to be more concerned about how changes in your daily life affect our Carpetbagger time than your own life! you've been above and beyond generous to us with your time and travels and you should know that we love and appreciate you for being here for us. as you go on your next journey, please travel safely and take a little more personal time to find and enjoy better meals. you deserve better than fast food. if we have a general idea where you're going next and it's where any of us live, we know what's good to eat... ask us! also, love to see you and Jenny enjoying some of these experiences together and am very glad you found a perfect partner in crime ♥

Hi Jacob! I started following you way back in 2016ish, during a very difficult period of poor mental and physical health. Your travel videos helped me feel less isolated and more hopeful about adventures I could have myself! I'm not surprised to hear about your diagnosis - I love your attention to detail and I share many of your interests, which is what drew me to your channel in the first place. I totally understand that sense of grief and confusion after receiving a diagnosis that, had you been aware of it sooner, may have altered or improved the course of your life. Well - now you know - and now you can move forward with greater empathy for yourself and your capabilities. That's a positive! The greatest thing a human can do is know themselves better! Glad to hear you're taking better care of your health and moving towards a time of greater peace. Wishing you continued success and enjoyment, and looking forward to your coverage of IAPPA !

You truly make people feel so good and happy, I had no idea you were in child protection before, I love you even more now! My daughter was soooo excited that she saw you at Knoebels at Halloween and my son was allll the way down at the Whipper when my hubby called with my son. We hightailed it to the haunted mansion because he said he wanted to meet the carpet bagger! And they honestly still talk about it, and always will. What a memory. Thank you for being kind to them. The goodness of some people shine through their YT channels and spread into "real" life. Thanks again for making their day and our whole fam wishes truly best of everything to you!

Anytime you want to share we're here for you and appreciate any tips on how you deal with tough situations. I have a lot of anxiety, depression etc due to health issues and medication. I think a lot of us deal with similar or have a friend or family member with autism or severe adhd etc. Good luck with the house and Jenn. ❤

Have been a fan of yours for a long time now. Have always enjoyed all of your content and videos & will remain to do so no matter what. You’re an awesomely amazing person who brings a lot to us all. Like some of your viewers I too have a walking disability and find it difficult to get out and about. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and some days I can’t walk at all. Now it’s been discovered that my right hip is bone on bone and I need a hip replacement @ the tender old age of 46 😅 and for the last 3 months I have been housebound as I can’t walk at all. Sorry for over sharing but wanted you to know that because of you I can enjoy “getting out and about” seeing new places & new things. It stops me from going completely insane…well more insane than I already am lmao 🤣 So I just wanted you to know what a huge & positive impact you’ve had on my life. I love watching every single video you make for us. Please never doubt yourself ever because you’re an amazing person. One that brings laughter & joy to many of us who may not have any otherwise. Keep smiling, keep the videos coming biggest hugs 🤗 from a loyal fan in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 and I’m sure I can speak for many of your fans “we love you Mr Carpetbagger hehe 😜♥️🎉💜🥰
