My biggest issue w the Sims 4 is that the game seems to me like it's built for you to play POV through one sim or one household only. I like to build whole worlds of interesting characters and it bothers me to no end that if I don't take care of them, their lives fall apart. The biggest example of this is in Discover University, where if you don't control every single one of the Sims you've created, they flunk out. Maybe this is just me?

what’s wrong: a broken game people keep enabling by asking for “packs” of things that should be free. because of this, there will be no sims 5 nor will we see the game ACTUALLY improve or go in a better direction. it’s laziness and the sims camp really shot themselves in the foot by making the base game free.

i agree EA is terrible but making the base game more accessible to a wider audience isn't an inherently bad thing in my eyes. more players=more people to complain to the devs. and what more can people ask for besides packs? this isn't an online game that need people playing on servers to survive (ex: overwatch, fortnite) so the leverage of the community is servilely less. we ask for updates in a form of what we know EA will give us: something to purchase.

life and death is cute but i do not for the life of me understand how the wills work. if my sim dies their will goes with them and no one inherits anything. not to mention if a sim outside of the household dies there can be no funeral, even if they were your sim’s parent

It’s not really “stealing.” Any mod with the ts4 script or package type files are using EA’s intellectual property and under the end user license agreement gives EA permission to use what they made without further notice or payment

The Dating app was not a stolen concept. The Sims 3 had dating apps in one of its expansions, the whole reason the mod exists is because people missed the dating app from sims 3. I’m not an EA apologiser but claiming EA stole the dating app idea from a mod creator when it existed in a previous sims game is silly.

The new packs have somehow changed my gameplay in a way that I enjoy. There’s a little more autonomy in my sims lives and it keeps changing the stories I had in mind. It’s making it more interesting and fresh for me, again. My sim is currently dating a werewolf (I never play with occult), but they fell in love on their own, but he also in his likes and dislikes loves everything she isn’t and dislikes a lot of what she is. It’s complicated and messy and I love it. Plus I love the soul’s journey aspect to the game, because it’s giving me goals to work towards that I’d never pick. It’s a great in game random generator.

With the whole dating system, I like that it makes romancing sims (at least in my experience) a bit harder. It makes it more rewarding when I know I actually took the time to romance them instead of just spamming a bunch of romance actions and now we’re married. The only thing I don’t like is that (maybe it’s just my game cause I have mods installed) when it comes to setting dates, my sim always has to be the one to plan it. Even if I ask the other sim to ask me out on a date, I have to be the one to plan it, which is ridiculous.

Lovestruck is fun but super stressful. Your relationship falls so fast if you don't keep it up, and the jealousy aspect is so annoying. They let you have a conversation about jealousy preferences, but you can only change them one at a time, and there isn't an option to just be f buddies. As for glitches, I'm not sure if it is the pack or base game glitching but I've noticed a few minor but annoying things. The most prevalent glitch is with woohooing, sometimes the option doesn't pop up at all and if it does, it doesn't always include the right person. The second glitch is with date and party goals. Whenever I do either of them, I have to do a goal task 5 or more times than needed before it counts it, which has caused me to get more bronze awards when I used to get gold. You can extend dates which is nice, and helps with this issue, but it is still really annoying.
