It's all over the world. I'm in Texas everything is higher 2022 than in 2018 or 2019. I believe it's the pandemic. Those 2 years everything stopped. It's like they are doubling to make up for the lose.

Thanks for the very informative video! Can you recommend some good, affordable Nigerian restaurants in Istanbul. I am dying to eat some good jollof rice... and goat meat would be nice too! No fancy restaurants with mediocre food. I just want to eat good food and will travel almost anywhere in Istanbul for good jollof 🙂

Hi, I rarely order from restaurants so I wouldn't know. Depending on where your location is there are some in Sisli I believe and some in Esenyurt as well

The cost of living is all about dollar curency and there are many reasons for that. But mainly the Turkish people don't trust their currency cuz it's not strong enough. That weakness was coming from the depth of private sector. Which means we were spending more than we earn. But this sittuation was balanced with the external investments into country and turizm. Until the money stop coming in. Because of wrong or risky political steps that Turkey did in the past those investments that were coming in just cut of. More over inside Turkey, Erdogan's ideas about principles of echonomy never found logical by the echonomy experts. As a result the dolar sky rocketed and cost of living along with it. Turkish echonomi was already sinking before the pandemic. It just took some time until we realize and feel how bad it is. The big chunk of Turkey's echonomy is import oriented (energy and raw mateial).
