wish we could use the wastelander for the new tow truck missions. there's been more than enough time to add load/unload animations for it. also since it's designed for off-roading, it can handle rough terrain quite easily. this would give the wastelander an actual purpose outside the transporter vip mission.

THANK YOU hella-flush for FINALLY being a KZbinr who puts this on a test for a Video. I recognized this before and some KZbin comment people as well but every KZbinr till this point was like "uhh, perfomance tuning gets overridden by drift tuning / it doesn't stick, it's a different system 🤓" all that BS. I tested this myself and I have a clear difference of performance on paper myself (due to testing on recorded clips). So TY for spreading this! Summary: Performance Tuning done before installing the drift Upgrade MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

Well when you upgrade a gearbox irl, it usually means more gears. To do this, all of the ratios must be shortened in order to fit another gear in. It spreads the power over more gears with better mechanical advantage as a result (the gear behing doesnt need to be used as long to get to the next one). Therefore, shorter burnouts, The smaller 11 skid is realistic

Agreed. On top of that though, you can see the skid marks are darker on the upgraded vehicle, meaning it's tires are seeing increased wheel spin in those areas.

What _may_ explain this, is if you look into the actual files that control vehicle tuning, the "stat mods" that are responsible for Engine, Transmission and brakes etc... are all present on the Drift variants (they are a separate vehicle, akin to how the Bennys and Arena Wars upgrades are). So whilst these stats are unavailable in-game, they do exist. I wonder if the mechanism by which the visual mods are applied when the drift-tune is purchased is also applied to the stat-mods, but completely inaccessible.

The thing with the tow truck is, it's very unstable in freeroam. When I still went to public sessions (I play on PC only) a few years ago, I once encountered a modder who'd spawn all kinds of vehicles for players to have fun with, and we had a few tow trucks too. There was a ridiculous amount of desync, there were random explosions when you picked up cars, some trucks were launched through the air when they hooked up certain larger vehicles and so on. They wouldn't ever have been able to fix all the shit that was wrong with it. And same for the small tow truck btw, because I drove around in that and not the big one and had basically the same issues.

the 11s are shorter on drift car because drift customisation makes it AWD (slightly) when you hit a certain rpm, the front wheels have power sent to them

Very interesting what is actually what with the drifting upgrades !! The subtle differences can make such big impacts, 'clutch kick'(handbrake redline) power, gear length/ratio, just plain power.. great catch on the discrepancy!!! Would love to see a video with further investigation!

the towtruck cant be used in freemode bc of the game breaking glitches it makes that R* had to patch somehow, thats why even on pc if you use mod menus to spawn tow trucks the tow functionality is broken on purpose to avoid it.

The reason why the tow truck is only available in missions is because in old gen people would have multiple tow trucks and tow each other and it would crash the server

The drift upgrade makes the car awd. It only sends a little bit of power to the front tires so it's hard to notice. Hope this explains everything lol.

suspension affects traction if all forms of performance mod affect drift tyune then the level 4 suspension verse ur stock suspension gave him better grip which limited the number 11 distance also since drift tune also affects traction highly the effects of suspension could be drastically different to each other, like traction could be multiple times better when level 4 when calculated with the drift tune traction loss stuff

Trade rates are definitely not worth buying. You'd have to reclaim a destroyed vehicle between 45 and 90 times to break even. No one needs to pay repair fees ever since you can just get far enough away from your car and get in delivered through the interactive menu fully repaired for free, or go into one of your owned garages.

Something I didn't know about until yesterday is that you can go and see your interaction menu and and rearrange all of your garages however you want Without having to call your car. Be by the garage that you want to put the car in or even swap garages within the same building. It doesn't matter the building or word stored. You can just swap it whenever and where.

tow truck provides faster accumalation of funds in the safe. just having it and also towing cars. staff allows to salvage two cars at once. other than that its really there to use for the cool down between stealing cars missions. and 2 hours? it took me like 30min maybe 45min just to do one

The tow truck is actually good money because the cars get salvaged even when you’re offline so you can get on tow 2 vehicles that takes like 20 minutes maybe and then get on an hour or two later with 100k rinse and repeat

I really thought i was the only one trippin, like who is paying 4mil for a shop that doesn't really pay well or offer any type of storage. I really like that rockstar added the drift mechanic don't get me wrong it's really fun (although it should of been added years ago) and probably is what im going to be doing the most now but im also done buying businesses there already like 9 - 10 other business/heists that are going to pay much more. The rusty tow truck does have a chance to not work and won't let you start a mission and what I like doing is starting a mini heist while two vehicles are being scrapped by the time you get halfway through set up you get 70k and all you have to do is wait for them to be scrapped and you can put more in and complete the heist and get a extra 140k on top of the heist earnings easy half a mill with some of the missions and there's no missions that mark you on the map for other players to blow you up it's all supposed to be without player interaction

I completely lost my tow truck after 2 days. I ticketed, they said they're 'collecting more information like mine on these issues and should receive a reply within 2 days'. It was the 650k one, sprayed mine blue and are at the strawberry yard. Towed 2 cars. It was gone the next day. Dunno what else to say.

The Glitches in This Update is Absolutely Nuts, Now I Don’t have a Chip Shop so I Haven’t Ran into Any of The One’s You Mentioned in Regards to that, But just a lot of Weird Stuff Has Been Happening in My Games Lately, like Getting Stuck On Edge of The Kosatka in a Running Animation, so I Self delete thinking it’ll reset, spawn back in with my guy about half a Body High Off The Ground Stuck in a Unable to Move Frozen Running Animation, to then asking a Friend I was Playing with to Hit Me with Their Car to See What Happens, Hits Me, and All of Sudden I Teleport Half Way a Crossed The City but Above the Shorter Buildings Now Frozen in The Sky Consistently Falling in a Sky Dive Animation But Not Going Anywhere, to Another Instance Where I was PvPing with a Griefer on Foot at The Docks, and After Spawning One of The Times After He Took Me Out, I Spawned inside One of The Shipping Containers… Was Able to Move But Not Affectively Shoot like I Would have Wanted as it Only Allowed One Bullet to Fire on Every Lock On with The Gun, Then Go Gray

In drag racing(straight line racing) the car that spins more always looses, spinning means you loosing traction aka waisting power, so your longer 11 is why you are loosing

With the burn out difference my best guess is that with the upgraded transmission it's causing the car to shift sooner thus ending it's 2nd gear burn out by early shifting into 3rd

nope, cars with drift tuning has 50% more horsepower than base, they're basically fully upgraded vehicles but with traction loss and different handling.

I think gta online will get ported to the new Vice City map and game engine. Rockstar isn’t abandoning the online version on gta 5. They’ll likely incorporate the new Vice City into it. Maybe make ur player pay a grip on online money to fly/port ur character into Vice City.

I towed 5 cars to the salvage yard. Then I spawn in and suddenly I have to PURCHASE a tow truck for my business? Wtaf... a million down the drain, and another 650,000 for a crappier version.

The upgraded car has shorter gears, keeping it in the powerband for every shift. The not upgraded car has longer gears, so when shifting into 2nd the wheel spin stops, but comes back when reaching the powerband. With the speed plus a second wheelspin, the 11 is longer.

3:55 isn’t a glitch that’s what it’s like irl when your drifting, your car may be going 20mph but the wheels are spinning at 80mph so 80 will be displayed on dash since it’s measured from wheel rotation

The passive pay out is weird too on the yard. For some reason you only get 16500 after the 24 tow truck missions. I thought It was 24k every 48 minutes? But when theirs no cars being salvaged you only get 16k passively

wish i knew about this beforehand. I purchased everything soon as the update dropped, and my game even bugged out, the salvaged vehicles wouldn't show up and the cars from the missions gave out a staggering $0 payout (bug). thankfully i was compensated by rockstar, but still left a bad taste on my mouth, never touched the dlc ever again.
