Gui had an outstanding game - his energy completely changed the game last night. He should get a chance to play some rotation minutes, especially now with the bench thin. A larger problem is Kerr's reluctance to play a real SF and a real PF consistently instead of his beloved and completely ineffective 3 guard lineups. Wiggins, JK, Moody, Gui, and Kyle can all play SF, and Draymond and Kyle should get most PF minutes IMO. If you look at Curry as PG1, Schroder as PG2 so you always have a defined PG on the floor, Dray and Kyle as the PFs (plus JK or Gui at times depending on the other team's size), Trayce and Looney as the centers, you can mix and match a lot with the swing SG/SF players while keeping a functional team on the floor for the full game. I don't think the Warriors are nearly as mediocre as you'd guess from watching what Kerr rolls out there night after night.

Swissssshhhhhh! How is it going Chief? I have been lurking throughout the season but just wanted to chime in here. I look forward to your content more than any other. I like the young players. A lot. They all have flaws, some gaping but not terminal. The most important thing is I can see them becoming a formidable team with great chemistry. The wild card is coaching. I just don’t see Steve Kerr being the man to usher this collection into a new era. I can see Stackhouse, Mike Brown or even Terry Stotts or someone else but not Kerr. I don’t see Kerr having the flexibility to adapt or move from his philosophies that were formed with prime 30, 23, 11 with a jolt of perfection in the form of Kevin Durant. Adapt he must though.Your analysis that it is time for Steph and Draymond to make space and adapt to a new scheme is spot on. A young team that is in control of its destiny would benefit greatly from the experience and skill of those first ballot hall of famers.

I was starting to think you jumped ship! Thanks for hanging around. Love seeing my my Day 1's here from time to time. Thanks for chiming in though it's always good hearing from ya. I agree that Kerr is stuck in a time capsule and just like you can't expect a young player to give you a championship while learning the game, Steve can't change philosophy while trying to do the same. They've gotta get fresh eyes and I agree with your coaching choices. I think those three could lift them out of the muck. We're at the point where you can't find a player to make this team better, so the next option is kinda obvious.
@shemsuddinmillard3172Күн бұрын
Coaching maters more than ever in the CBA. Even if they could revamp their roster through trades I am not sure if it would make a Sam Hill bit of difference to the outcome of this season. In fact, I think it would be a net loss because of the time taken away from the current roster to get to know itself and each other. I keep thinking of Kenny Atkinson, JB Bickerstaff, MIke Buerholz (sp?) and Mike Brown. All of those teams had marked improvements without wholesale roster changes. Are all of them beyond Cleveland rearranging the power balances in the league? No. But, we get to see what those teams really are. I am frustrated because since ‘22 I have not see what the Warriors really are apart from a scheme that has been figured out by most of the 29 other teams. Even the bad ones. I also think of all of the commentators that wondered if this year’s Cavalier team was a mirage. The real mirage was the 12-3 start of the Dubs. Makes me sad, but it’s true.

A lot of the warriors minimum contract players has been impactful players if given the chance. Especially if they are gone. They always showed flashes that he was a capable role player when he was played but sadly only played garbage minutes for them. Once Kenny akinston became the cavs head coach he knew he can utilize him off the bench. Gui is not different but sadly to say he'll either walk or be traded. He doesn't get minutes, he's just sitting there despite the need of wing depth and size that warriors needed. Him and Lindsey needs more playing time. I really wish the warriors run plays from Stackhouse and stotts like they did in the first 15 games. Kerr's line up and tactics are too predictable but with all the players getting injuries. I think it's too harsh to clamor for Kerr's removal. Like Curry & Green, Kerr has become predictable & is slow to respond effectively when a lead is quickly being whittled. He forces an offensive scheme that no longer works, the Curry-centered motion offense. The trio have to utilize Moody, Santos & Spencer, encourage them to be assertive, aggressive & to improve their defense, shooting & rebounding. They have to develop fresh offensive schemes. Their players have to focus on improving their shooting, defense, passing, blocking & rebounding.

Gui has steadily improved his game, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The team still needs to defend better and Gui is, now, going to have to show defensive improvements, to earn more consistent minutes. Podz earned minutes last year with his consistent hustle, defense, and drawing charges, without making dumb mistakes, as a rookie. It doesn't hurt that he would drop a 3, every once in a while. This is the type of player that Kerr wants and the team needs. This isn't a team that can survive a player making consistent "rookie mistakes."

One thing I noticed about Warrior's system is that their players is not that really bad, it's just that they dont get enough playing minutes to build their momentum, and in turn, confidence in actual games. Due to Warrior's constant change of starters (aside from curry, dray, and schroder), and player rotations, no matter how decent of a player you are, you will always struggle if not given time to get a hang of the game. I think the Warriors needed to find their identity now or they will go through this season looking for perfect combinations but ending up losing winnable games. They are trying so hard to replicate their offensive strategy years ago (which was working), back when the NBA was not focusing too much on 3s. It was when Curry was consistent on his offense. But now, whether we like it or not, the guys is not the same anymore, and is approaching/considering retirement already because of how his game is declining. Though he still can carry games, but he cannot do it on a nightly basis any longer. They lost an important piece in Klay, and Dray isn't getting any younger as well. Having so many player options can truly be a blessing and a curse. (And for the love of God, please find a decent true Center)

It's hard to find a spot for him in my rotation when everyone is healthy. I'd like to max out at a 9 man rotation so it's looking like... Curry, Kuminga, Wiggins, TJD, Draymond, Schrooder, Podz, Moody, and probably Waters for the ninth spot. Hield can take the nine spot as well in this rotation. After that everyone else is just being played based on need at the time. While I would love to find a spot for Gui, I don't see him taking over for ten I mentioned. At least when everyone is healthy. I know you've been hard on Podz, but if you look at his numbers as of late, it looks like he's turned it around in his shooting, and I believe in Moody's ability as well. I do think Draymond is a void on offense and the team could probably be better off with him out of the rotation, but there's no way that will happen as of right now. (Plus it's hard to ignore his impact defensively) If I'm the GM, I'm honestly looking to get rid of players in the deadline and the off season. If we could grab a quality rim protector I'd make the move, otherwise any moves should just be to cut salary. I'm curious as to who your rotational players would be!

He plays the 2-guard for Brazil believe it or not. I think he can slide to the 3 at least and play alongside JK.

@@SwishCulture Was not aware of that, that might objectively be what they should try but we are talking about Kerr here.

Kerr is a phony. He talks a lot of crap. All of these players minutes. Kuminga, Looney, Anderson, ,Moody, and even Santo, is coming to a stand still, with the return of, Mr. Zero points, triple single, Goose Egg Laying Gary Payton 2. Pathetic.

Gui was awesome …. And he’s super sexy haha

Next trade STEPH and DRAYE because as you’re currently constructed you can’t even sniff a championship! Also consider moving off KERR he’s Tired, Rusty, Played Out. He had a nice run but you guys are no longer a DYNASTY and you are about to lose the absolute best player on your squad…JONATHAN KUMINGA

Goodness Swish is this where we are now? Highlight reels on scrubs? I realize we're struggling right now, but you can do better than this. Allow me to help you, try making a highlight reel on foreign soil players. The league has shifted and Golden State hasn't adjusted. The best players in the NBA are the foreign soil players, from Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Jonas Valančiūnas(the guy I keep pressing you that can turn the Warriors season around, Nikola Vucevic, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Ivica Zubac, Kyrie Irving, Domantas Sabonis, Pascal Siakam, and Rudy Gobert(3 defensive players of the year awards. And that's just scratching the surface, these guys have quietly taken over the NBA while the national media continues to pump up washed up stat whores like LeBron James, and other notable of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Jason Tatum, Anthony Davis etc. Not that they aren't worthy, but they are not the best players in the league, none of those players are even close. So why hasn't Steve Kerr stepped into the foreign soil pool and grabbed one? Does EVERYTHING need to be on Golden State? Go look at the numbers on those foreign players, your forever pumping stats on your audience, go look it up, the numbers don't lie.

Thanks JW! I'm not really interested in those, hahah. My guy DKM has covered that a number of times.

@@SwishCulture Yes but its YOUR audience, producing footage on G league players isn't attractive at all. I can't even believe you stooped to this level.

Dude had 9 points and is now the savior lol. Warriors need to make a trade. We need to somehow get Vucevic or Vucevic + Levine if possible. We need to get Steph a consistent 2nd scoring option even if it means trading Wiggins and Kuminga.

Can't even be happy for a player having a good game, fam? Come on now.

Draymond doesnt know how to nuture young players. So most of them go underdeveloped or lanquish in the G league or traded. Or beat up!

They should sign him and trade Moses, Moody, and Kamminga
