Can I just ask why you don't wash the vegetables before you cut or tear them up? You have several dogs (and I love the fact that at least one of them is an Australian like me) and I would hate to think that one of them has lifted his leg, accidentally of course, and you might be eating that. Just curious, because I wash all my fruit and veggies before consuming them. Jake, I love, love, love your videos and I find them inspirational and most helpful because I am, at the ripe old age of 73, trying to become a vegan, or at the very least, a vegetarian.

Fascinating how you were able to make meals straight from your backyard, what surprised me was the home grown pasta and the sauce, you should really make tutorials when it's season on how to make sauce and fruit jams & keep up the videos you've inspired me to grow and my backyard is looking nice , real exciting and addicting adding trees to a once-empty 1/2 acre

I think your edible landscape is amazing and your family are lucky indeed to have such a bounty of health right outside your door. I would love to have even a small garden as healthy as yours. My problem is so much going to waste. Im not even close to vegan however I love veggies and am motivated to be more sustainable. My husband and kid would eat very little from a garden so it would just be me ,,,,how do you deal with so much abundance before it goes bad?

Also let me know about the dryland garlic varieties that sounds interesting- I tried one from a specialty shop, and they are sooooo good fresh! Lol Socially I am afraid of self-sustenance in the backyard alone- going to the store is fun, or at least going outside and picking shit is cool also;). I love learning and showing ppl stuff. Never gone hunting though
