What I Do Before I Buy Gear

Whenever I want to buy new gear, instead of watching reviews or asking other people what they think of it, I hire/ borrow the gear and test it myself to see if I do want buy it. When testing the gear, I'm not pixel peeping, I'm looking at how easy is it to use and if is it getting my look.
