@nonchiii4548 electrolytes actually help the water be absorbed in your intestines. However, it's not really necessary to put extra minerals/electrolytes in your water if you're eating enough.l, because that's where the sodium and glucose and others will come from. Extra elektrolytes in your water are helpfull when you are losing a lot of water (ex working out) so that you can rehydrate more easily.

@@samaraluvbut that doesn’t dehydrate you Dehydration happens when your cells get stripped out of water, which happens due to osmosis: water moves from a solute with low osmotic pressure to a solute with high osmotic pressure. You aren't dehydrating yourself. Unless you're an athlete and you've just completed a very intense workout which has severely dehydrated you, have food poisoning or another similar condition which has had you vomiting and/or having diarrhoea, or are otherwise severely dehydrated or at risk of it, plain water is recommended over salt/electrolytes. The reason that you need to drink electrolytes when experiencing severe dehydration is because your cells can't uptake the water you're drinking due to your salts/water levels being disturbed therefor affecting their ability to absorb the water via osmosis. And in order to help your cells uptake the water you don't just need sodium and chloride (which is what Himalayan salt is made of) but also potassium, calcium, magnesium and other metallic salts that your cells need. So basically all you're doing is drinking salt water and giving yourself eventual hypertension. Drink normal plain water and if you're ever severely dehydrated you can either drink some Gatorade or your doctor or will give you packet electrolytes that actually include the full range of salts you need to help with hydration, not just sodium

I'm sure you are, but be careful about the amount of salt you are adding to your drinks. It looks like you did 3-4 twists of the grinder. Most grinders grind about 0.75 grams of salt per twist so that's 2.25 - 3 grams of salt or 873 - 1,164 mg of sodium. That's about ~45% of your daily requirement in one drink. Normally, we get plenty of sodium and other electrolytes from the food that we eat or multi-vitamins we take. Not judging or anything, you know your life better than someone seeing a momentary clip. Just please be careful, too much sodium can really hurt our bodies.
