I've had IBS for 3 years, but I was only introduced to the low FODMAP diet a few days ago. The list of things I shouldn't eat is very overwhelming, but this video is reassuring. I want to try making the granola and sweet potato chunks :) Please make more of these videos!
@BeckyExcell7 жыл бұрын
Yeah low fodmap does seem super restrictive, I definitely find that every single day but I've got use to it a lot more now as well. You just need to plan a little bit more and you will be fine. I will definitely try and do more of these videos regularly - glad you enjoyed it. It you have any other questions, let me know :) x
@888biedronka7 жыл бұрын
It's not as bad as it seems...I'd suggest Pinterest for recipes and ideas...And if that is not restrictive enough,meaning helping you feel better, try the SCD diet.I'm just doing the FODMAP again,when I tried it in the past for 0 days I only had one day where I was feeling a bit bloated but that was it...I was feeling amazing!You can also follow FODMAPLIFE on Instagram...good luck!

What lowfodmap list are you using? walnuts pecans cinnamon and dried fruit all seem to be on the lists I was given :(
@07ikkin5 жыл бұрын
This is the list I use. Some of the items you mention, can be eaten, but in limited amounts. To find certain things, hit control, then F, to type in a food. Foods in red are IBS triggers. Foods in green are okay to eat...www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/

She has probably challenged those foods and found them ok for her. The goal isn't to permanently get rid of all high fodmap foods, it's to find which trigger you and eliminate/limit only those

Thank you for the recipes. I have rosacea, signs for me started in middle school until finally when I was 20 I had to start taking creams for it, it also became apparent that I have a hint of lupus possibly. I started taking ginger and turmeric medicinally and after that I feel a lot better, so now my rheumatologist isn’t so sure I have lupus 🤷🏽♀️. My under control rosacea suddenly became worse, everything I put on my face burned, and my face was itching, throbbing, and burning constantly day and night, it was horrible. I’m not allergic to anything it’s just a lot of foods cause my rosacea to flare up which affects my face, neck, and digestion. I’m suddenly ( I had signs of everything, but it still feels sudden) lactose intolerant, I can’t eat gluten, cinnamon, oats, high in sugar fruit like ripe apples & bananas, and high in FODMAP foods so far it’s garlic, onions, and legumes I’m still figuring that one out. And after 3 months of putting nothing on my face I started putting this face wash, lotion, and this pro water hiking sunscreen they happened to have and so far so good. I’m 23 now

@BeckyExcell7 жыл бұрын
Hi Danielle, thanks so much, glad you like it! Definitely agree that breakfast is tough! I end up having the same things all the time so it's nice to find some different options. In terms of onion and garlic free stock cubes, I think these are a good option: www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=273967359 (if you are coeliac then they won't work as they are 'may contain gluten' but I am only gluten intolerant and find that they are good for me). Otherwise you can buy 'Potts Chicken Stock' which I got in Whole Foods the other day, that is 100% low FODMAP :) x

Just wondering, what kind of gluten free flour do you use or do you make your own blend? Saying gluten free flour is not that descriptive and different brands can be wildly different in my experience. As I see you are in the the same country as my I will not ask about brands cuz I highly doubt I will be able to buy it in Seattle. Otherwise I am definitely going to keep these recipes in mind when I finish my elemental diet.

With me recently being diagnosed with IBS I decided to watch this video for ideas but sadly with me being a fussy eater I’m not too sure about eating some of what I saw, I don’t like fish for a start, the granola well I’m sure there are gluten free versions in the supermarket I could try & find (sorry I’m lazy & probably can’t be bothered to make things from scratch for myself as I’m married with kids so have to deal with them too) I’m the only one within my family with IBS, so I’m sure there are tons of gluten free products I can find that I might like...also can someone answer me this question, what type of milk can I use in cereals & decaf coffee?

Thanks for the great video, Becky! I'm wondering what dairy free milk you used for the soup? I have unsweetened almond milk but I don't know if that consistency is thick enough or if it will make the soup taste like almonds? Also, I'm hoping that chicken breast meat instead of chicken thighs will work... And I'm planning to just ballpark all the measurements but if you're willing to share your recipe, that'd be great!! Thanks for your help!
@BeckyExcell7 жыл бұрын
Hi Lacey, I actually have used unsweetened almond and it does work fine! I find that everything is so flavoursome you don't taste the almonds. Chicken breast would work, just make sure you don't overcook it. Chicken thigh cooks a lot slower whereas I do find that chicken breast can get tough if you cook it too much. The recipe is over on my blog: glutenfreecuppatea.co.uk/2017/04/06/gluten-free-cream-chicken-soup-recipe/ Hope that helps :) x

What dairy free yoghurt do you use? Or milk for that matter? I use lactose free milk as in on low FODMAP but I still get bloated. Soya milk is high FODMAP and almond milk tastes horrible. The diary free yogurts are usually soya based

Here in the states, especially the south, Dukes Mayo is the only one w/o sugar. As I'm on a pre-diabetic low carb diet, I've also whipped up some homemade no 'refined' sugar mayo. I can substitute an appropriate sugar substitute as well if needed or wanted.
