I just recently started this diet and already feel so much benefits. I have one problem tho which someone of you could help me with. The only problem for me on this diet is the digestion. I have very watery diarrhea and stomach (predominantly intestine) pain. Good to mention that I'm transitioning from very very bad diet.. Will it go away if i stick to it? I really don't want to throw towel in, cause I experience so many benefits and in my eyes it's the best diet for humans. Other than that I experience very very mild allergic reaction to fruit (i usually eat it with honey) in form of very very mild itching in mouth. Do someone here have some advice?

@@jeanshareux2090 Apple Cider Vinegar helps me a lot with digestion. I like it with Lemon and Honey. The problem with the allergy is probably pesticides, I used to have that problem too. The only really great brand of honey out there is Heavenly Organics, besides the ridiculously priced manuka. No pesticides. But yeah probiotics should help digestion, Raw Grass Fed cheese aged 6 months is good bacteria. If you can’t find that you can always find parmigiano reggiano. And Apple Cider Vinegar.

Layne Norton hates anyone that’s not himself. He picks and chooses little things Paul says instead of the whole picture. Honestly just can’t stand the guy. Its got to be hard but it says so much more if Paul just continues to ignore him . Hey Paul, great video! Just wanted to let you know that you can add categories in the settings such as tracking biotin, iodine, proline, glycine, choline, ....and you can even breakdown Vitamin A into subcategories to show the actual amount of retinol along with luteine + zeaxanthin alpha and beta carotenes. You can even break down vitamin E into the 3 tocopherols (beta, delta, and gamma). Oh and they just added a new option to track Oxalates which seems to do a fairly good job. In settings, go to "Profile + Targets," then at the bottom you will see "Nutrient Targets" There you can check off boxes under "Vitamins, Minerals, Carbs, Lipids, and Proteins".

My attempt at cost analysis of one of these example days being the daily intake. Assuming my own local pricing and 30 days in a month. (I am trying to prepare to overhaul my diet to this regiment, not criticizing it) 1) Local Oregon 80/20 GF&F ground beef - avg. $9/lb. @ 2 lbs./day = $18/day = $540/month 2) Local Oregon GF&F Beef Liver - avg. $11/lb. @ 1 oz./day = $0.70/day = $21.00/month 3) Local Oregon GF&F Beef Bone, for Marrow - avg. $11/lb. @ 1 oz./day = $0.70/day = $21.00/month 4) Local Oregon Raw milk - avg. $22/gal. @ 12 oz./day = $2.07/day = $62.10/month 5) Beef Organ supplements from H&S (subscribe and save every 30 days) - avg. bottle, 30 serving @ 1 serving a day = $1.95/day = $58.35/month 6) Local Oregon Organic Free range Farm eggs - avg. $6/dozen @ 1 egg/day = $0.50/day = $15.00/month 7) Heavenly Organics Raw organic Honey - avg. $7.50/12 oz. @ 2 Tbsp (1 oz.)/day = $0.63/day = $18.90/month 8) Jacobsen low Microplastic sea salt - avg. $20.53/lb. @ 9g/day = $0.41/day = $12.22/month 9) Raw butter - no data 10) All Organic local fruits and veggies for a week - avg. $60/week = $8.57/day = $257.1/month Grand total = $33.53/day = $1,005.9/month [low end] There are a lot of assumptions in this cost breakdown based on current market value and where I live but I wanted to give a general ballpark of what it will take per day and per month to up keep a diet like this...

Paul, I’ve been doing the carnivore diet for health but also to get and maintain a sub 10% bf. I am able to eat in a surplus as long as my fat is on the low end. I eat alittle over 2 1/2 pounds of 96% lean beef, I also have a few cups of frozen strawberries with 4 scoops of a low carb protein powder. I feel amazing until the end of the night with the whey and fruit. Definitely get some bloating from that. I tried the liver, I can’t eat it, too gross lol. Might have to try your supplement for it. I have heard how healthy it is and it was a staple in the past in alot of American diet. I don’t agree with your views on evolution/hunter gatherer etc. i so agree with alot of the things pertaining to that, plants having defense mechanisms in place etc, but I believe they have always been there and were “designed” not evolved. But that’s just my 2 cents. Thanks for all your content on this though. I had terrible GI issues for over 15 years that really made life difficult for me. This allows me to eat and feel awesome all the time as long as I stick to this diet.

Saladino looks really healthy, and all this is pretty cool. ....but.....If one studies the blue zones (where people live in their nineties/centenarians); blue zone people do not eat like this. Most blue zone diets revolve around a basic carb. Wheat, yams, rice, etc..... mostly plant based, and most blue zones are not pure plant based.....there is usually small amounts of animal sources. One thing is for sure, blue zone people do not spend any time agonizing over what they eat everyday, their environments are basically healthy with local fresh foods. Also, there is often a moderate amount of alcohol consumption. Blue zone people are typically "active", but not with programmed exercise programs. Walking, gardening, making stuff, etc........I am almost a vegetarian, and I eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast at 5:00 a.m. (which he says is bad for you) and run on this all day, with a small chocolate snack in the early afternoon, until lunch (pasta, pizza, bread, polenta, veges, soups, a couple of hard boiled eggs, fish occasionally, and not afraid of dessert) around 2:00. I'm 72, and I work on an urban farm 7 days a week, which includes taking care of several cows (which will never be slaughtered). I work the younger generation into submission daily, that is not because they are not capable, they do not have a strong work ethic. ......and I do not obsess over what I eat all the time. Still wear the same size clothes I wore in high school. Robust health is great, but it does not guarantee longevity. Also, I think it more healthy to pursue active passions, than to scrutinize over everything we eat. I'm sure Paul's regime is healthy, but one could question the amount of animal slaughter it takes to have this kind of robust health. I think I can sacrifice some "robustness" to keep my animal protein footprint as small as possible.

Would you say that this diet high in fructose and fat is good idea for obese person with NAFLD? Because from what I know like 70% of people from Ray Peat forum ended up with even worse health issues. @@justine3769 I am not asking what works for obesity and NAFLD. I am asking Paul if he thinks that this "Ray Peat" diet is ideal even for obese people.. Btw keto will not fix NAFLD if you keep eating excess of calories and also if you don't get enough choline.. So you don't need to do some stupid keto for fatty liver. WHat you need to do is calorie restriction and not be deficient in choline.. I was on Ray Peat forum many years and the amount of people damaging their health by eating this diet was insane.

@justine3769
@justine3769 Жыл бұрын
@Jiří Hutečka Obviously if you are obese, and/or have NAFLD, it most likely means calories restrictions hasn't worked for you. The definition of a fool is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results 😃. It's almost impossible to overeat if you are eating clean keto. The only difference between this diet the doc is eating and clean keto is that clean keto limits carbs to 20-50g or so. I don’t think it's a good idea eating 250g of carbs like this doc is doing if an obese person is trying to lose weight unless they were already eating 1000g of carbs.
@jirihutecka9020

@@allenbrost9564 Even on animal based diet you can eat excess of calories and you can eat a lot of butter or lard which has no choline and if you are fat and obese and have NAFLD your health will get worse.. He consumes more dairy than me, esp. butter. Also a good deal more meat than me, animal proteins, etc., and it is all super high quality grass fed stuff. He eats a fair amount of tropical fruit. Now, I’m not saying “no fair, where are your veggies,” I’m saying something more like, “Do I really need to eat vegetables?” I think vegetables are healthy to eat. It’s just that, well, each of us are different people. And we must figure out what works best for us on our own…. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Hey Paul.. question. Are you logging the raw or cooked weight of your meat? Cronometer bases the nutritional profile of meat on its cooked weight, which is super unfortunate because the cooking method is going to significantly change the nutritional profile and overall weight of the meat. Not entirely Cronometers fault, they're using various sources which measure cooked weight. Just something to be aware of as it's no small difference, I've noticed cooked weights up to 40% less than raw weight and that skews your consumption data considerably!

Would love to know in case I or anyone else should have this same issue. Guys don't want low free t and high SHBG to state the obvious. I'm going to test my hormones and see where I'm at with SHBG free t and tsat%....would love to know ahead of time a solution to this problem of iron overload other than just donating blood every 3 months for the rest of my life

Hey just found your channel. Great information. Your diet and eating times are similar to mine. The only thing that is different is that I'm trying to eliminate fructose out of my diet. Reason why is that I'm diagnosed with type 2 diabetic and I've come to the conclusion that, with me, my liver wasn't all that healthy because of fructose. At least that is what I've read. And I've being eating potatoes, rice, pasta and oatmeal as my carbs mainly in the morning. followed by proteins ( lean meats out fatty meats depending on my goals) and i finish the day with fats. But macros are similar to yours. 200 to 250 grams of carbs, 150 to 200 of protein and and 100 to 200 grams of fat. Blood sugar stays with in range and no longer take medication for the diabetes. I do wonder if i should change my carbs from grains to fruits. I do notice less bloating when i eat fruits but also diarrhea hits hard as well. Any feedback would be great thanks

For someone who does an hour of vigorous surfing per day & eating an unprocessed diet, 3500 calories as a maintenance seems exactly correct and expected. Unprocessed foods and avoiding linoleic acid are key

Problem is most folks don’t have the luxury of surfing 2 hours a day or have fresh markets at our back door for fresh fruits. I like his nutritional advice but it needs to be geared to the average person. I work 13 hour shifts. So if I ate 3000 - 4000 calories a day even eating healthy would still gain weight.

@@daviddad1234 there is no need to surf 2 hours a day. You can do other things as well. And lets be honest you also dont need to live in nature to live like this. the foods mentioned are all easy to get.

Paul, Does your body get into ketosis with the fruit & honey you eat? Do you test for ketosis? just for discussion I would suggest you look up yt vids: 1) Dr Berg's vids on why honey is just sugar. also one on why fruit is not a good idea (to much sugar). 2) Nutrition with Judy vids on why you should NOT eat liver. (Obviously Paul is in good shape and can eat honey & sugar but, many that will be searching for a "new years 2023 diet change" may be sick with inflammation, overweight,* insulin resistant major issues and have high sugar craving issues and addiction to sugar/carbs this diet of Pauls might not be ideal for you until you get your body healthy). *look up insulin resistence vids.

Paul has said many times get healthy first with a ketogenic diet, then test what carbs work for you. And "Dr" Berg? Judy? Both are frauds. Judy also claims that omega 6 is not a problem if you're eating animal products. Somehow Linoleic Acid in chicken is ok... but nuts & seeds are not?? Ok. That's some massive cognitive dissonance. Dr Berg thinks you need lots of spinach in order to prevent fatty liver. I guess to trade fatty liver for kidney stones maybe...

Sadly, commercial eggs have a lot of unsaturated fat. The good news is that eggs are very lean in general. This is likely why eggs are good (then bad) then good again. It's the linoleic acid content. That said, I would immediately stop buying commercial eggs and only get pastured eggs. It seems snobbish, but you need to have quality products with chicken and pigs (as shit accumulates in their tissues much easier than ruminants)
