People will always try to find a negative in anything that they just don't understand, I guess. When I was on a weight loss journey, I cut back to 1400 calories (or less) per day. I exercised twice a day, 6 days a week (pilates in the morning and exercise bike in the evening). Not only did I feel better, but it felt good! I would walk away from exercising feeling invigorated. I lost 33 lbs in 5 months (which is really not that much, that's less than 2 lbs per week). And although I was still "technically" classified as overweight, I was ridiculed by everybody, mostly my own family. And they would say out loud to me whatever they were thinking. My husband was the only one who didn't have anything negative to say because he was the one who actually saw me putting in the work. I really had to develop thick skin and ignore the background noise. I do recognize that you are on a larger platform though, so it may be easier said than done.

What a shame. People are just awful. As soon as you re doing something they should be doing themselves, it s put down after put down because you re doing it and they re not. They own their feelings, we don't make them feel a particular way, it s their own response to your making progress while they stay stagnant. Everybody should cheer someone trying to improve themselves. Saying stuff like that ain't going to last or you re gaining it back ...it speaks of their own wishes for you. And when it s family it really hurts that they would want you to fail. Strangers too but they re hiding behind stupid names like we used code language in 2nd grade...so dumb, mean spirited and plain envious. I am sorry it happened to you but kudos for the weight loss and efforts you put into it. Now go be fabulous.

Sophia, I have to take biologic injections every 6 weeks for Psoriatic Arthritis, because I had extremely bad plaques all over my body. It has drastically cleared up my skin. I had Covid before I broke out, and my daughter in law, 49 , passed away from a rare blood disease. These things caused the skin problems. I’ve changed my diet by limiting bread and sugar. I didn’t have much guidance about my diet, so I’m thankful that you showed us your diet. You look very nice, and I know you must feel really good. Thank you!Annetta

I've been on a weght loss and fitness journey for 6 months now. I'm 57, was morbidly obese, taking levothyroxine/medication for high cholesterol (still am) and I was guilty of emotional eating. Since hitting menopause more weight piled on until one day I decided I didn't want to be overweight anymore. I cut my calorie intake to 1800 and made a point of exercising more (2 -3 times per week) including some strenghth exercises with hand weights and machines at the gym. Being consistent and disciplined has paid off. I have lost 2 stone, feel so much better and feel stronger and healthier. I've still got another stone to lose at least but I am in no hurry. This is a change for life. I'm not going back to overeating and intend to continue to limit/avoid my triggers which are crisps/potato chips and chocolate. I've not found it too difficult, but consistency and discipline is key. I'm happy to have learned that it can be done and not to give up on myself because I deserve and need to be healthy and strong as I age. It is currently almost socially unacceptable to some people to talk about weight loss and dieting and I disagree with this as it has changed my life for the better. It's the best decision I've made in decades. You look amazing. I've never known how you do everything you do; look after your family, work fulltime, do KZbin, all the home renovation and still have time for hobbies. You are a marvel and an inspiration. You deserve nothing but admiration, but sadly there will always be people who don't want you to change. You owe it to youself to do what is right for you. I appreciate you posting this, it is not an easy subject to broach these days.

It's so great you found the right balance for your health! What you've done is really hard and I hope you are proud of yourself. I'm 58 and my baseline is about 1400 calories. Like you, it took me a long time to understand this. I walk 5 miles every day and that helps me eat a little more - but not too much more. Diet, not exercise, is what keeps my weight under control. Thanks for the video.

BRAVO! I purchased the small blue and yellow pottery condiment jar from you Etsy store. It sits on my coffee bar lazy Susan, it brings me joy everyday when I see it. You have been such a STRONG role model for me, I decorate my home with the lovely things that bring ME joy. One of the first video of yours that caught my eye was a Spring cleaning of your old guest room (Williams room now) I FELL IN LOVE with that room. Now I have twin beds in my guest room 🥰. One day, I will write a private message telling you how low I was when I found KZbin cleaning videos and how they helped me climb out of a very dark hole. To see you struggling was difficult because I struggle too but seeing you take charge and look for answers to those problems and follow through with the advice of professionals and just those of us who follow you, SHOWS ME IT CAN BE DONE, and done properly. I’ve seen the change in you, and I’m PROUD to tell people I subscribe to your channel! Thank you, Sophia. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sophia, I just want to start off saying how much i appreciate your content. I'm not a regular follower but when I feel the urge to declutter I put on one of your playlists and do it along side of you. I also recommend them often because your talking thru the process is so helpful for working thru the guilt of why we hold onto stuff. I just revisited one of your older playlists from 2018 when you were decluttering your closet and were getting rid of all your size 10 pants that no longer fit. I hope you bought yourself new clothes in your new size and feel great about it despite the health concerns that accompany the weight loss. I knew you had lost weight because I also follow your Facebook content. Curiosity got the best of me, and a hope that you were healthy... So now I'm here. I'm sorry to hear that the reason is due to autoimmune issues. I know several people who also deal with autoimmune and other disorders that require major dietary restrictions. You're not alone in dealing with this. It takes incredible courage to share your story, but doing so really helps others who are experiencing similar situations not feel so alone. All of this to say, despite the negative comments you receive when you mention this stuff, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thankyou. You are fabulous inside and out, and I'm wishing you an abundance of joy, love, and fulfillment in all that you do. You are valued, appreciated, and cherished by many. 💜

I’m so glad you were able to figure out what works for you! I thought FODMAP would kill me when I started it. Giving up gluten and sugar showed me that I didn’t have to suffer from severe joint aches, IBS, headaches etc. I lost 90+ pounds and then Covid sent me off a cliff. I’ve been struggling to find my way back. My labs are not what they used to be. I don’t tell people when I’m keto because they are so negative. I just say I’m gluten and sugar free. Then they leave me alone. The truth is there is no one size fits all but why do people feel the need criticize just because it’s not what they do. I have an autoimmune condition which was flared after Covid. I have swollen lymph nodes in my neck and face that refuse to go down. For me, I have to go back to strict keto if I’m going to get this body back on track.

No. They are wrong. You, and anyone, can say what they want and people who don't have anything nice to say, can be a decent human being and keep their negativity to themselves. People who are saying such negative things have a problem. They feel negative inside themselves that they need to resolve. What you shared is very similar to what a certified diabetic nutritionist taught me. I have lost 140lbs without surgery or medication and no longer take any prescription medications. You are right. I have been watching you awhile since the boys were both little. They are not little men now, but grown men. I believe that all that are alive are a product of what they eat. Also we should be open to hearing what others have to say. A nurse friend of mine was discussing with me the benefits of drinking bone broth with collagen that she is experiencing, the nurses that were around us, even though they were not part of the conversation had so much to say. I had a precious dog of mine, a couple of Christmas ago (who visited the vet)who had an autoimmune disease that appeared in weeks where her body quit making red blood cells. She suffocated in my arms on that Christmas morning. When we share what we experience should give others a deeper view on life. Not the invitation to give our opinion, may not be their story now but a story they may need in their future lives. Please always be brave to say your truth, and dont let other affect negativity seep into who you are. Stay you course, because there are friends out here too. love

I would love to see more videos about what you eat. I also followed the AIP diet for a few months with great improvements to my autoimune disease, then I move to eat more Paleo but slowly I went back to my old habits and now I need to start all over again because my symptoms are all over the place.

I love these videos because I need to lose a lot of weight. I just started tracking calories again after fighting it tooth and nail. It’s just what I need to do to be successful. Love seeing what others eat for ideas. You are doing great! I know how hard this is. ❤

Thank you so much for sharing what you are eating. Congratulations on working it all out and losing weight too. It’s so good to hear that you are feeling so good now. I gave up gluten, sugar and caffeine 4 years ago. I identified that I was addicted. I too eat PB2. It’s so easy to prepare. I also have lapses from time to time and I feel cramping in my feet and hands. I take magnesium with calcium and vitamin D3. You are inspiring!

The proof is in the pudding (sugar-free!) Haha. You look terrific! Congratulations on finding what works for you and sticking to it. Diets and eating plans are so varied and they work for different people. I hate that you had to justify yourself at the beginning and I hope the feedback you've received is positive. This was very brave of you! 💕

Thank you so much Sophia for sharing this. I would love to see more content like this. I suffer from autoimmune diseases and difficulty losing weight. I am currently having a psoriasis flare up. I'm going to try gluten free and sugar free. Again, thank you.

You are an amazing awesome person. Now as for the TROLLS saying ugly things (yes I know it's hard to ignore them) just look at all the positive comments compared to the trolls and you'll see the first far outweighs the ugly. God had plans for you and you followed through with flying colors. You do you to the best of your ability and go on with your great life

Sweetheart, ignore haters...they are slowly rotting inside and feel lack of personal power. They are triggered by someone thriving and sharing how. Anything negative is about them and not you. x Also, you look fabulous!
