She never talks about therapy either; would be nice to learn about what kind of outpatient treatment you’re receiving, if any.

In her latest question and answer video she did a month or so ago, she said she had gone to Uni in the past, but then dropped out. She said she had a job but didn’t say what king of job it was. I get the feeling that she is very private now when it comes to her personal life. She seems to enjoy doing “what I eat in a day” videos now. They are probably easier for her to do because they are light hearted and fun videos . She doesn’t have to talk about anything other than the food she is preparing and how it tastes. Plus she gets to show fun times she is having with her family too. I think more light hearted videos are what she’s aiming for these day.☺️

Kristina Lombardi if you have issues don’t dive into someone else’s mental health, contact the healthcare and sort your own stuff (the food is the symptom of a deep psychological issue, tend to the root of your problem with professional help). It can’t be fixed by knowing other people’s treatment or what they eat. It doesn’t add anything in your day to know private information about someone on KZbin. Just accept that what is uploaded is what you get.

To those who want to see Elzani "heal" and become more interested in a "larger" life, she is doing it her way, and maybe her healing is completely internalized. Celebrate her for her!
@soilgrasswaterair4 жыл бұрын
Kerry Hofheimer it all takes time, and simply putting on weight and being able to eat again isn’t magically going to fix it all. Small steps are the best due to them being more sustainable. And it’s hard to say what is in someone’s life who has lots of integrity (which is good to have especially on a public platform). People see the disorder and their intense interest in that and wish to talk about every detail so they can relate more and feel validated etc, while they forget she too is an individual with emotions and doesn’t exist for her subcribers’ entertainment. Very intrusive questions and demands are still coming in regarding her body, thoughts and food talk even though she specifically asked people to not discuss that and for the focus to be other things now that she is not where she used to be.

Hi Elzani, u shared ur life with us during a very challenging period of time and we all saw ur struggles with anorexia. Although I do enjoy ur what I eat in a day videos I was wondering if u could share with us your recovery. For example , do u consider yourself free from anorexia? Do u still have a little voice saying restrict? If so how do u manage this. Do u see a counsellor, how many calories do u require in a day to return to a healthy weight when ur body has been so malnourished. Have u reacted badly to some foods as a result of anorexia. I bviously would only want u to talk about this if it would not be a trigger for u but it would be interesting to hear u talk candidly about ur recovery and I am sure this would be beneficial to others to hear how hard/ easy this has been. And perhaps thoughts and reflections of times gone by. Please continue to take care of u x

i do agree with most of this but i think she should avoid talking about how many calories she is eating as she is probably not tracking this and it can be triggering to people although i reckon she could still give imput on approx how much she eats (e.g. 3 large meals and regular snacks, lots of carbs, fats and fun foods)

And honestly from the very beginning, I was so relieved to see loving, supportive women in your life who were ready and willing to be role models for you on your journey. You have beautiful, healthy women all around you that wanted you to join them so badly and their love for you just overflows and infects the rest of us! I don’t mean to idolize anyone for their appearance, you know that’s only a surface element to a person; but these gorgeous ladies have healthy bodies and healthy minds! They should be an inspiration to anyone, especially those struggling with an ED. Never give up and on your hardest days, look to them for strength and guidance. Hi Elzani, I’m not sure if you have got your period back yet or not, but if you haven’t I wouldn’t recommend exercising in the morning before eating. Cortisol is at its highest in the morning and if you don’t eat before exercise I will continue to increase which in turn affects your sex hormones. It is recommended against for all female athletes but especially those without a period. Just thought I would let you know as I’m a runner suffering from ammenhorea too and my dietitian and coach have both stopped me doing any form of training before eating to get my period back as soon as possible to help with bone health ☺️

@@OneKnitterAndHerDog Oh ok that's awesome! I just feel a bit worried about her because at 23 it's important to start branching out and building your own life. Obviously everyone's journey is different but I know sometimes wanting to stay a child is a feature of anorexia, and she also seems to be quite preoccupied with food.
@lifesong84844 жыл бұрын
@@abigailcoffey512 she has actually come a LONG way. In her old videos it was basically her obsessing over food, analysing it & constantly asking her Mum for permission to eat. She spoke in a monotone & all smiles looked forced. Her videos used to just revolve around food, whereas now she is able to enjoy & show herself opening up to other aspects of life. The videos are no longer just about food, but she still often shows what she eats to encourage other viewers to also have the courage to relearn to eat, no matter how hard. It is amazing how differently she is when it comes to eating. She no longer has a stiff terrified looking smile around food, which is encouraging for sufferers to watch too (true progress). It is a joy to finally see her true personality come out, her mind alive & expanding, & becoming more open to life. It's important not to push a person with these conditions into work or study. These come naturally with healing. Causing too much of an overload of stress (recovery is extremely stressful as it is) can be detrimental. She is already progressing just by coming alive & gradually opening to life away from an ED (playfulness, enjoying the outdoors, being able to build close relationships again, the list goes on).
@lifesong84844 жыл бұрын
@@abigailcoffey512 the few ppl with anorexia who want to remain like a child have undealt with childhood trauma, where their basic needs were not met. It is not overcome by trying to force someone to 'grow up' - it requires intensive treatment to deal with the trauma. Pushing only makes a person feel more unheard, invalidated & lonely.
@lifesong84844 жыл бұрын
@Lifes2short I myself relapsed after being pushed into studying. I seriously just needed a break for a little while after suffering for so long. @beccalynn63574 жыл бұрын
I know I’m not Elzani, but I did just get out of 5 months in an inpatient facility so I hope I can offer some advice. I assume people can’t visit because of COVID? At my hospital starting in March all visitors were banned, as people with anorexia have weakened immune systems, thus all exposure to the virus must be limited. I know it is hard seeing people get hospitalized but just know that is where she needs to be and she is getting the help she needs. The hospital will know how to minimize risks and return her to health. As for helping, I was always happy when I got letters or when people just reached out to catching up. Just a simple “thinking of you, sending support” text would brighten my day. I’m sorry to hear about your classmate though, be sure your mental state doesn’t suffer when you worry about someone else’s 🧡

@@beccalynn6357 thqnk you so much! We've prepared a box for her with letters and stuff she likes in it and she was really happy to receive it! She's also made some friends at the hospital but she also said it was very though because at the beginning not even her sister was allowed to see her because of covid. But we'll be allowed to visit her in 3 weeks now! I don't really know much about anorexia only like the stuff you learn at school but I've realized the recovery process is so hard and takes lots and lots of time. I just want to support her at the best of my abilities 💕 thanks for replying and good luck to you!!

I don't have ED but I watch alot of what I eat in a day video and yours popped up I read the comments and realize so many people deal with ED. How did it start for yall? What happened in y'all life to have ED? I'm really curious

Well the second question is really personal haha but for me it started with counting calories and feeling good about having that one control. Then I started restricting. That's how it started for me...half a year later I got hospitalized

For me it started off when my severe anxiety got so bad I was physically in constant pain and unable to consume anything .it then spiraled out of control, and my body image wasnt helpful either. It became sort of a coping mechanism with my other issues

It started when I got bullied in school as a child. I became an emotional eater, and a few years later it evolved into an ED after trying to diet.

When people can taste the soapy taste it has to do with genetics those people have a variation in a group of olfactory receptor genes that allow them to taste the soapy flavoured aldehydes in cilantro leaves 🍃 🌿
