Great recipe, only I add 6-8 frozen chunks of papaya and mango, and run it through a food processor. I put the finished meat loaf into ice cube trays, freeze and pop out into freezer bags. I just thaw one out in the fridge overnight and that is her breakfast. She wont eat her fruit any other way. I supplement with boiled eggs.

I was going to mention the same thing as someone else said, hide the fruit in the meat portions; blueberries, strawberries, different melons, kiwi, etc, but remember bananas in moderation. I guess the key is variety, and that was a lot of calcium btw, plus you can use another multi-vit mix as well as the calcium. Most important regarding handling, you must force handling every single day for at least an hour, very important or your going to have "attitude" problems later in it's life. Good vid.

Yes! Hiding (non-acidic) fruit in meat is a great way to get your tegu to eat a more well rounded diet. Also, reds are much more accepting of fruits than b/w Argentines so if you have a b/w, this might be the ONLY way s/he will eat them!

I just got my tegu today at the reptile expo 2013 but he don't eat or go on the light he only sleeps and hide he's a baby and he's nice so far

You can feed your tegu eggs but not as a staple of their diet. It is better to feed your tegu either boiled or scrambled eggs, as raw eggs have avidin. It is OKAY to feed your tegu raw eggs as a treat here and there, my tegu loves raw eggs, but for the majority of the egg feeding, feed cooked eggs.

well that is all just what I put together from what I read and heard I don't keep tegus. sounds very likely to me tough. the 66% fruit diet is accurate tough, it was made by biologists. it comes pretty logically that they miss many amino acids minerals and such by not eating fruit. much as human children.

you should feed them mice because of the different chemicals and vitamins in the mice you should also feed them dubia roaches and you don't have to feed live you can feed a tegu frozen mice so you don't see it get killed.
