Wow, your shift from the SAD to modified keto is admirable. Giving up issues instead of “foods” is a great attitude.

You are the most encouraging person to me in this Carnivore way of life. I have been carnivore for 90 days now, feeling so much healthy, although just had my appendix out in emergency surgery, BUT I know it was due to preexisting GI issues. Sitting down and listening to you reminds me so often how worth it is to keep going.

Yes! I've also given up severe Reflux/GERD, Type II Diabetes, fear of chairs (I got up to 320 also, before finding keto, then ketovore), humiliation of extended seatbelts, plantar fasciitis, and once, the total crushing humiliation of getting on a carnival ride with my daughter, and the bar across the lap not clicking down. I had to get back off of the ride in front of hundreds of people watching, and along with my daughter. She was supportive, but I was depressed for months. Now, I can (if I want) ride all the rides. And I'm finding that, as I heal, my focus (ADHD) has improved, my anxiety and depression have lifted, etc.

A) Tell yourself to stop, out loud if you have to B) Do something else: dance, 10 arm raises or toe touches, or a set of Hoedowns (search YT for video with Teresa Tapp). C) If you still want something, you can have a can of sardines 🐟 any time of day or night. Once the sugar is out of your system that will get to be a lot less. Once your brain is less foggy it gets easier to sort out the "noise" vs hunger; I call it 'the Whiny baby". You don't give in when Whiny baby wants cake or something else that doesn't help your goals; you distract and redirect ('here, have some bacon 🥓 or fried beef fat trimmings and let's walk to the mailbox') or make some keto/low carb substitutes. You can do it 💐

For me, it has been a very long process from eating “ a balanced diet “ to then low-carb , to next keto , and then ketvore, and then giving up most vegetables. At each phase - to get past cravings and obsessing about food - I would temporarily increase fat AND protein and would snack on butter and even tablespoons of MCT oil. I would allow myself to eat as much beef, fat, bacon, eggs, fish, and fowl as I wanted to. Yes, I was probably over-eating, but I was never going to make it past addiction to food freedom if I kept trying to restrict too much. Once my body got the message that there was ALWAYS going to be PLENTY of healthy protein and fat, it finally calmed down and stopped pestering me for more more more. I have not weighed myself for years (because it triggers dieting behaviors that are not helpful), but when I went to the doctor about a sleep issue a couple of weeks ago, they made me weigh, and I was 15 pounds lighter than the last time I had been there a year or so ago. So by seemingly OVER-eating, I lost 15 pounds. This is a pretty common story. Kelly Hogan (My Zero Carb Life) and Bella (“steak and butter gang”) have similar stories. Good luck to you 🍀💚

I takes 2-3 weeks, give or take! If ever I feel that way now I know that I did not eat enough meat at that meal! The trick is to eat enough meat at each meal until your brain stops thinking about what to eat next because you are just so full.

Happy to see you’ve passed the cravings, or should I say the memory of them. I’m just now starting to experience that, but only after going Lion. Spices, the stevia in electrolytes, and coffee were the last things keeping me from fixing the main issue (digestive healing). Just those things alone were keeping the cascade of further hormone and autoimmune issues from healing. I just experienced “true satiation” for the first time this week. And true, perspective is everything. Sometimes you just have to look out of a different window. With that, my list of what’s missing is growing too. Great TT lovely woman! Thank you 🫶🏽

I have given up sugar yippee!!! Also, white flour, gluten, vegetables, fruit and eating all day long. IF is my lifestyle. Meat based! Some dairy but not a lot! Recently I thought I wanted a baked potatoe with butter and salt. So I made a potatoe, put butter and salt on it. It had no taste to me at all!! I love learning to make food from scratch that make me feel wonderful. I love your honesty and transparency! But it is so true, to be able to sleep at night, not have night sweats, get off BP medication, wear clothes that are not 2X, running after my grandchildren, walking just because I can, doing my very first 5K, socializing without eating food thats not good for me, the list goes on and on! Your absolutely right. I had an 18day stay in the hospital, I had plenty of time to think about what I may never eat or do again. I have been out of the hospital for 7 months. I don't call it Keto I just say I am carb restricting, using healthy oils and whole foods. I even have a book written by a Cardiologist on a proper diet I can site. What have I given up, a bunch of food that are ok but had to go. What I really gave up is 105 lbs, high blood sugar and so on. I have a long way to go yet, like another 100lbs and getting my organs back to operating normally and maybe having my doctor question whether I am Diabetic or not. It's getting easier I can walk right through the bakery to get to the meat counter with out a whimper.

Thank you for the new perspective on what I'm giving up! I've been keto for almost 5 years now and lost about 145 lbs. I've been struggling lately with thoughts of 'long-term deprivation' and have gained back 30 lbs. over the last year due to slightly loosening up my keto food restrictions. That has resulted in bringing back the old feelings of 'forever deprivation'. I think your video came to me at just the right time to get me back on track before I do more damage. Thank you, so much, for sharing your wisdom and encouragement with our community. It means so much to so many of us.

HI Anita I am new to your channel because I have been watching Chris cooking Nashville and Indigo Nili to get an idea about Carnivore/Ketovore and I am listening to you now and wow I have never thought about that side of what I gave up.....I have done 18-6 Intermittent fasting /strict Keto for almost 2 years.. (I am 67) .I have lost basically all the weight ...My pain and inflammation is limited to lupus flares..I wanted to somewhat I am 5 ft tall and weigh between 116 and 120 depending on what scale is weighing me ....I have 4 different types of Lupus and other autoimmune components, spinal surgery and recovery, while losing the weight I lost all my muscle, which Im working on now and hopefully can regain that do exercise and am always busy but I look like skin on bones....Carnivore and Ketovore has peaked my interest because of protein and muscle building. I have incorporated more protein in my diet and am starting to find out the trigger foods (acid reflux, bloating, etc) I just don't know how to do this better and sustainable I have always been a salad veg person but have to limit due to not allowed Vit K and just trying to get a perspective on what to do to got to the next level building muscle and maintaining weightloss....Im sorry for the rambling and long comment ....Im stressing about food and I shouldn't be and haven't been till now...Thank you Julianna NC
@KetogenicWoman
@KetogenicWoman Ай бұрын
Well I am glad you are focusing on protein because women our age (I am 66) generally do not get enough protein! Many people have overcome all their autoimmunes with a animal only diet so it's worth a good trial. Vegetables are highly overrated and not even necessary, neither is fiber for that matter. You might just find that you feel a whole better without all that!

I tried carnivore for 2 1/2 months and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I don’t like meat much, seafood or good beef is not available in my country. I was so constipated and depressed that I have to cook and bake for my husband and kids and watch them eat. I started eating vegetables and some berries and they make me feel good. I love to cook and bake, I need to be creative in the kitchen, so low carb with some cheat days is the one way I could do this long term. Maybe if I lived alone it would be different. I kind of feel like a failure, but this diet was so boring and restrictive I didn’t want to eat anymore and the last month stopped losing weight, even though I ate so little. I admire your determination ❤
@KetogenicWoman
@KetogenicWoman Ай бұрын
Some people do better with just whole foods and nothing wrong with that. If you are constipated adding a little extra fat can usually fix that. For the veggies just watch the oxalates and try to focus on low oxalate veggies and stay away from seed oils, grains and packaged or processed foods. Your family will be healthier that way as well.

I am only on my second week of carnivore and at times I just don’t feel like eating meat or fish for breakfast but I think of the health benefits you just mentioned and that keeps me motivated to continue. The only things I still have is a lactose free yogurt in the morning and my coffee with a bit of creamer. I have noticed some differences in my body such as less aches and pains bit only minimal weight loss. Still feel overweight but looking at the future. Thank you for your channel.

Remember that the body needs to heal before it will release weight. Be sure not to under eat. The first time I did keto, I was never hungry so I did not eat enough. It resulted in hair loss and some damage to my thyroid and my hormones. At the beginning , most bodies appreciate it if we give them MORE than they need- especially women who have typically been dieting for years and years. Coach Raymond of steak and butter gang told me a couple years ago “Eat like it’s your JOB!” That advice corrected the problems I was having. Some days I really really really didn’t want to eat much, but by pushing myself, the positive results came. You might want to check outKelly Hogan‘s story and Bella from steak and butter gang . Good luck to you😊

Thanks so much for this message! Needed to hear this I’m so tired of everyone feeling sorry for me that I can’t eat everything they can. I'm so going to use “I choose my health over food” and I've only given up being in pain all the time. ❤

5:40 We'll, we all saw what happened in the U.S. when Obama "fixed" our Healthcare system. (Laugh and cry at the same time)

@@sheebathefunnyrescuedog692 "Obamacare" promised to provide affordable health care to everyone but what actually happened was some people got very good care and some got disenfranchised pretty much just like it was before. The biggest difference was that the poorest got much better healthcare at no cost, and the middle class who relied on insurance generally had massive increase in expenses. The richest among us were generally unaffected. So, the poor were served on the dime of those who could least afford it. And to add insult to injury, if someone's insurance costs went up too much, they made it illegal to cancel the insurance and go uninsured, regardless of whether someone could afford to pay out of pocket or not. Anyway, as I said, the upshot was that many who didn't have care DID get care, and many who'd had care before didn't. But the Democrats sure got a lot of votes out of it, which was actually the whole point of the thing. 20 years later, the rich and the bureaucrats have care, the insurance companies and big pharma are rich beyond the dreams of avarice, and the poor & working class are dying of chronic disease. Pretty much the same as before.

@@worldsystemsarereal Obamacare helped me as well but that doesn't mean it was the right answer for our society at large. Robin Hood helped a lot of people too, but he was still a thief.

I love pasta and bread. However, years of pain eating that food has taught me that it's not worth it. Same with vegetables. I miss these foods, but not having the physical problems that come with eating these foods is so much better than the taste of them.

Three months Ketovore/Carnivore. Haven’t lost an ounce. I could NOT care less about what I’ve given up, I gave up sugar, flour, pasta, bread many years ago…..Im completely frustrated. I’m apparently insulin resistant. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, it's hard to advise without much info here but one thing I would do is try elimination. I did that in the beginning, I did 30 days of ruminants and salt only and then added things back one at a time. I sure learned a lot about what items were triggering and also made me feel ill.
