I feel like out of all the What I Got For Christmas videos I've watched this year, Mere's is the one I like most. No fancy editing was needed (not saying I don't like fancy editing), and I could tell she genuinely appreciated the things she got and loved the people who gave them to her. She's so down-to-earth and to me, she is not 100% not bragging about what she got. Other videos, people say they're thankful for what they got and are not trying to brag, but when Mere says it, she seems so true and genuine about it. If anyone ever called her fake, I'd laugh so hard.

So I don't know if anyone from America heard about the MH17 crash? The plane went from the Netherlands to Malaysia and my teacher went there on a vacation with his girlfriend this summer on june 17th. (6 days before my 17th birthday) On that day the plane was shot down by a missile. My teacher died in that crash along with his girlfriend and many others. When I heard this I was at the beach with my boyfriend and that was very close to his home. He went to ask something about the dinner that evening but halfway home they crossed paths and his father went back with him to the beach where I was waiting for him. My boyfriend walked up to me and told me about the crash and that our favorite dutch teacher was in the plane. Immediately I was upset and started crying and then we got dressed and went home. Once home I realised I wasnt wearing my necklace where my boyfriends name was on. I left it with my clothes because it wasn't real silver so I couldnt wear it in the water. His mom made that charm from .. I dont know what to call it in english but it's zilverklei in dutch. So we went back and searched for it but we haven't found it. My boyfriend asked his mum if she could please make a new one. So this christmas I went over to my boyfriend. In their christmas tree there was a ball and I could open it up and in there was a whole new charm for the silver necklace I asked for my birthday that summer. It kind of means alot to me because I lost that charm along with my favorite teacher in the whole wide world. He understood the teens because he was young himself and he was busy creating a whole new system where the teenager would have the best way to learn and go to school without feeling like shit and hating on the public school system. He was funny, he was nice, he was inspirational. And even after his death, that summer he brought our whole school together. People came back early from holiday to attend the ceremony.
