Some people have lost everything this year and may choose not to watch because they find these sorts of videos hard to watch this year. It doesn't mean they "don't like seeing people happy". Some empathy and awareness for those in less fortunate situations wouldn't go amiss.

If you all listen to the vlog Lydia did say you can choose not to watch if things are tough for you right now. There is always a choice. Our household had no Christmas presents this year as my husband had to close his business. If watching someone show gifts and talk about them effected me then I would not watch. We are in a lockdown once again in Scotland just like yourselves.

I’m sure Lydia is well aware of what some people have gone through this last year. However COVID hasn’t only just affected people financially but for a lot of other reasons too for example mentally. I’m sure Lydia doesn’t reveal every little detail of her life on her social media/ KZbin platforms, so you have no idea how this pandemic has affected her. Please if this last year has taught us anything it is to be more kind to each other because no one knows what is just around the corner.

I typically enjoy these Christmas videos, however I think on this occasion it may have been more appropriate for you to acknowledge that this video is particularly contentious to post at the moment - it’s not just a case of ‘not wanting to see people happy’. Please be mindful that a large proportion of people have had an extremely tough Christmas. People have lost loved ones, have lost jobs, have been unable to see those most important to them, and some have spent Christmas alone. Maybe Christmas 2020 could have been a special time to keep private, for yourself.

i used to think that Lydia just did a poor job with empathetic communication. sadly though, i think her words are actually carefully chosen to place all blame for any negativity on her viewer. she is unable to acknowledge her own communication style contributes in any way to the hurt/hurtful comments she then receives. i can only hope she grows professionally in 2021 and does a better job, cuz i really do enjoy the videos. and when she’s not disingenuously tackling any deeper content - cuz she’s terrible at it - i usually enjoy her personality as well.

As a stage IV cancer patient I celebrated my 6th yr still alive thanks to immunotherapy, At this point I have received both of my Pfizer Covid vaccines ( health care worker) & got to spend a lovely holiday with my husband and son. I live near a Hermès in California and I go in and out all the time. It’s no different than any other store. I give zero fks what the SA’s think of me. I’ve asked questions about leathers. I’ve tried on bags they have on display. I buy nothing because I haven’t seen anything I like. But i leave with my head held high. I don’t think twice about it.

My sister in law works at Coravin! It’s an absolute life saver! You put it through a cork (cork only), poor one or two glasses and take the needle back out. The cork naturally shuts again, and you can keep the wine as if you’ve never opened it! We use it allll the time

But...are you really happy.? Do these things give you happiness? I’m too am fortunate to have “stuff” but it’s a temporary happiness. Happiness comes from feeling content. An overwhelming feeling of feeling healthy and relaxed with your family around you, children all happy too when you see them all content. Looking at my Cartier ring right now typing this does not make me happy. It’s just a ring. Everything I was blessed with a couple of weeks ago I can buy anytime with the grace of god. I no longer have that happy feeling when I buy something new or try a new dress on because there’s only so much you can buy or be gifted before it becomes mundane. Just like eating your favourite food. I’m sure if you ate it for a week you’d soon become bored of it. Giving is better than receiving. For everything you are blessed with, give back to others less fortunate. Not saying you don’t as I’m sure you do but hey...stay humble ✨

At various points I have worked for many luxury brands; Chanel, Dior, Vuitton ect ect. But when I worked for Hermes.... I realised that no other brand comes close. I'm similar in the way I dont like preparing meat and I dont like wasting it when doing roast. So we get slices of beef that you would put in a sandwich and pop the slices in an oven dish, cover it with hot gravy and put it in the over 200° for 25 mins to heat up and the "roast" is delicious. Serve with all your normal roast potatoes, carrots, veggies etc. No meat wasted and fool proof. X

No Christmas gifts this year as we could not (and should not) gather as a family. Just a good reminder of what is really important. Between loss of jobs and loss of family for many, it's hard to be sad about not getting gifts. However, it is always fun to have an escape and watch to see what kinds of things people are finding in the luxury world. Beautiful and fun things to see and dream about!

Our youngest brother passed away unexpectedly the day before Thanksgiving, so Our holidays were very hard 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 So I tried making the best of them, by hosting, cooking, making sure Christmas was the best we could possibly make it, we didn’t do gifts between myself and my husband, as he gave abundantly to make sure my side of the family was okay. I know Christmas is more about spiritual Jesus, God, I don’t want to sound ungrateful for the life I have, however I’m glad the holidays are behind us! 10 days prior to his passing, he’d just celebrated his baby granddaughter turning one year old...the best anyone could do for us, is pray for us, to get through this, we are a very close family.

I poured myself a glass of champagne and enjoyed watching this video. Christmas was different not being able to travel to be with my family. Local friends made it so special with special drop-offs and porch visits. Happy New Year. Can’t wait to see your puppy and greenhouse!

happy new year lydia .. watching this video, i’ve had a thought - for the new year since everyone is going through such a hard time would you consider donating on an ongoing basis to a charity ( maybe for animals since you love them so much ) on behalf of your utube channel ? this year a lot of people donated to underprivileged people and children instead of gifts and i think it’s such a lovely idea to give back .. it’s just a suggestion .. have a safe 2021
