I understand your struggle Lydia, I've also had to break the conditioning I've developed for low self-esteem specifically about my hyperpigmentation. As a black woman I've struggled with it but now I'm more gentle with myself and patient about skincare that is working slowly but surely. 💛💛💛

Hello @LydiaMillen! I haven’t worn makeup since high school because I came to the same conclusion. Make up has the opposite effect for me and makes me feel self conscious. All I need is a consistent skincare routine and my SPF cream. My skin has been Make-up free for 10 years. Absolutely love it!

Permanent make up is still make up though… so I find it hard to say “make up free” when your eyebrows and lips have permanent make up and you have Botox. That’s not truly natural even though I’m in full support of permanent make up! You look amazing and I think your skin is flawless! Truly looks glowing and healthy. I think it’s so important for us to feel comfortable in our own skin regardless of being all natural, make up or having procedures/botox ❤

If you take a screenshot of Lumi at 38:10 it would make a beautiful photo or you could even have it painted and framed. That wreath probably smells wonderful to her! I love seeing Lumi (and the boys) in your vlogs, but if I’m honest, I am much more of a cat person. 😂 I have been meaning to get some catmint and valerian seeds planted for my cats. This enhancing one’s looks thing IS one giant gray area. Eating well, sleep & exercising is definitely on one side. On the other are surgeries. In the middle are contacts, extensions, lashes …Botox, lasers, tattooing eyeliners, brows & lips, derma planing, peeling, infrared, etc. That’s my opinion. It’s a tough call how much to do w/so much. Some could use rather more than others, some can afford more than others. Dentistry alone spans the full range. Everybody is comfortable w/different looks. Same w/clothing, I’d never leave the house in slippers & sweatpants or a mustache but others do. Balance, as in most things, is key.

Lydia I stumbled over your page by chance a few weeks ago and I have started watching your videos when I am able to take some time to myself (with two young children) and listening to you share about your life helps me relax in such a big way I just want to say thank you. In particular about how honest you are about just being a human who is trying to make the absolute best of everything. I am also a extremely hairy girl and I have struggled with it my whole life, my 33 birthday is coming up and because of you I fell like I finally found a treatment that could help me in such a big way, so I will get the Kenzzi for my birthday and I am super excited. Thank you so much!

At 54, I have that confidence as well. But I’ve not had any Botox, fillers, eyebrows filled in or lip colour put into my lips. I am 100% natural most days to let my skin breathe. I’ve stopped wearing heavy foundations and powders as well and have gone BB or CC. I’ve also never contoured or used heave concealers. I have very good skin but I’ve stayed out of the sun and never had more that one glass of wine (in any sitting) as alcohol reeks havoc with your skin. Yes, I’ve been lucky with not having acne but I do have enlarged pores. But so what? I literally feel so sorry for all young women with caked on makeup and I wish they could all have more confidence in themselves.

I don't use filters and I don't use foundation. I never have. I don't like what I look like with a ton of make-up. I feel like I am wearing a mask. I am 60 years old. That photo over there - next to my name - is me w/o any filters or hair color or ??? I use a little bit of mascara and a little bit of lip balm. I sunscreen, moisturizer, and I don't put harsh soaps on my face. You look beautiful without the make up. I think as we get older, we get more comfortable in our skin and who we are and what we like and don't like. Lovely vlog - thank you for sharing.

Happy birthday again! I loved your discussion about not wearing makeup. I’m 42 and used to wear makeup all the time before the pandemic but then while spending so much time at home I stopped wearing it so much. I still love doing it when I feel like it but I’ve noticed that by focusing more on skincare and letting my skin breathe, my skin looks and feels so much better. I used to always feel like I to put on makeup when I vlogged but now I usually just put on mascara and lip balm lol. But I love how my skin feels now after years of struggling with acne and just general insecurities. It’s nice now to wear makeup when I want to and not feel like I have to. I think some of this comes with age, so you’ll get there. 😉 As for golf, lol 😂 my dad was watching golf all of Easter weekend because Easter had the audacity to fall on Masters weekend. Thankfully it ended on Sunday in time for him to join us for dinner. We never do anything with him for Fathers Day because that’s when the US Open falls and watching that is all he wants to do lol. If you and Ali haven’t watched Full Swing on Netflix I’d highly recommend it. 😊

When COVID hit and I wasn’t traveling and going into the office everyday my makeup routine changed and I no longer wanted to wear foundation… it was a bit of an odd feeling at first but I even noticed how much better my skin looked after a few weeks. Part of that was due to how it saw myself but also from not wearing the foundation. Now I’m happy with moisturizer and a few bronzing drops. You look lovely and quite stunning. Keep going! ❤❤❤

You are correct and I'm going to say it I am 48 years old and 98% of my days, I do not wear any. I like makeup and think it's really pretty however I do not want to cover up my skin. I love my skin and when I choose to embellish I will wear Eyeshodow, tinted lip balm, blush and masquara. No foundation or concealer. But everyone has their own comfort level. I also love my birthday. I always treat myself to a vacation by myself but the highlight of my day is when my father calls and sings Happy Birthday to me.

I never use filters. I think the use of filters fosters insecurities and germinates a discomfort of being in your own skin. There is nothing more inspiring than someone who is comfortable in their own skin.

Hi Lydia! Recently I was on the misión to feel comfortable with bare face, and I finally got it. Yes it’s from inside out, my salmon wild catch vitamin among other vitamins. Not drinking as much wine as would like to. Dior Protege serum applied only on trouble areas…smile lines starting to peek. Avoiding sun, wearing hats. I got a complement from the guard house police woman at my home complex entrance. I had no makeup, No coloring of hair and terrible hair bun with gym clothing. Oh I’m eating lots of greens and only water to drink alchaline with lemon, green tea in mornings and chamomile afternoons. Lots of pistachos and almonds. And I’m 56, my dermatologist thinks I cheated on him and got Botox 😊

You really do have your perception of yourself changed by how you most often see yourself, which I imagine in a job like yours would be very tough! I used to wear a full face of makeup every time I left the house, and I found it so hard to look at my bare face without being critical of it. But after years of wearing next to no make up, I’ve found that now I actually prefer the look of my face with its natural colours and textures (and freckles!) showing through. It really is a journey but I’m sure you’ll get there with time and practice xx

I think you need to pinch the pea shoots back to a leaf node and leave a few leaves on the shoot so it will continue to produce more leaves. If you cut it back to the base, it will take a long time to grow and you won't be able to harvest as much.

I never wear make up outside of going to work. I am in gym at 6.30am 5 days a week, I'm there for my health, not to care about make up on my face. I prefer for others to see me 'look nice' when out for dinner/at an event. I would say, I'm another decade older than u, and I see 'younger' ladies need eyelashes on etc to feel nice. As for u, u are very pretty girl, I think u give it too much thought, when home, relax (if ur not filming for work obvs!). Also, not sure about ur comments about feeling good without make up, u have eyebrow tint done, lip tint, and hydrafacials and botox (no judgement, I think u look fab)...but a 'bare' face isn't actually 'bare' is it???🤔

I think a camera set up in your green house is a good idea. That way your able to see what is uprooting some of your starters. Lumi likes that wreath. She is a movie star 💫 on your channel. And I agree cake needs to be shared.

My husband is obsessed with Golf , I understand you perfectly. I had to go through all the "Four stages" 1 : I was very bothered, 2 : I was very angry , 3: I didn't care anymore then 4 : I JOINED him in this Madness. So now we play togheter ( I join him time to time ) we talk Golf and we joined a Golf Club . 😂

Dear Lydia, you are stunning. When I watch you with makeup, gorgeous and then I see you without it and it hurts my heart when you apologize for not wearing makeup, it really does. Its so easy to say be natural and comfortable in your own skin, but ask yourself who else cares that much? As women we pile on all these beliefs, makeup, weight, youth etc... Look at men, they don't put all that on thier faces, and I still find them handsome, same with grey hair!!! People who truly care about you, dont give a hoot what you look like on the outside, its the inside that really counts.
