I'm in a country where being rich is the only goal you have. Having a house, a car, a family, a heafty bank account, a stable job, a good education. Its stressing, 16 year olds here already must to know what their future is like. They are given responsibility of their future in such a young age. Our education is everything. Once you fail, everything is already predicted for you. Its so stressful to be driven for something when you don't even know yourself. I'm going to junior college soon, at the age of 17. After 2 years I'd have to go college. Then university. I don't even know what I want, what I need. I don't even know myself, and everyone around me are saying to be a nurse, or an engineer, a ceo, a doctor. I don't want that. I just want a simple life, with a good enough pay, nothing more nothing less. A small garden and farm. I wanna have a space of land for myself. I want to stop the noise. Get away from the city, maybe buy back the old farm my grandpa used to have. My parents sold it off ever since he died.

What if you just incorporate the cottage life in little ways into your current life? I find the grass is always greener on the other side, and while city life can be hectic and stressful, rural life really can get boring and lonely. It sounds crazy because all you know is the stress of what you’re living, but you’ll find in a new environment you may feel a sense of relief from those stressors for a time, but you’ll find a whole new set of challenges. The key is to find contentment wherever you are.

@@s.a3099 Very well said...reality with no sugarcoating. A study stated that humans are wired to always seek new experiences. The neurons don't fire up the same way u experienced it the first time. The cottage life that seems so perfect from a distance to some, once all the excitement is gone, you will start to see all the hardships. Then u will realise that city or cottage, life is not a bed of roses. Challenges and suffering are an inevitable part of life.

This is my dream life. I want to leave from Athens and go to a secluded greek island like Amorgos and stay there until I die. On that island you wake up with the sun that goes through the window, there is no car or mororbike in the narrow streets. When the night falls you hear the wind knocking on the door and when it is full moon all the light from the moon falls in the room.. Also you can find many chapels and visit them when you want to go for a walk. If you want to go to the sea, or move from '' Chora'' to the''Port''you can follow paths suffused with mediterranean flora(like sage, chamomile, thyme) that the Archaeological service and local people have created through mountains. And when you want to visit the Monastery of the island, which is literally builded on a cliff, you ascent about 300 stairs.. When you reach up there you can view the endless blue of the sea and have a chat with the monks that offer you '' raki'' (a local drink), cold water and '' loukoumi'' (a sweet made from rose petals and sugar). God how I wish I could live there😢

I'm retired. I've lived in several large cities in my life. As an adult I chose a mate who was interested in a rural lifestyle. I looked for him after relationships that weren't oriented to that. We've now been together 33 yrs. We lived small town, small farm life until our children were grown. We were only 15 min to a metro area, the children could house. We sold it all to retire to a 500 sq ft cabin on 40 acres, 17 miles from a small town. Finding the passion for quietness in my soul has been a lifetime journey. I now have time to cultivate it. I much admire you to go ahead with this lifestyle at a young age. It was always in me, but I didn't allow it to consume me until 5 yrs ago. Good for you. I'm still on this journey with my partner, who has taught me so much about plants, flowers, hunting, foraging, self sufficiency, and much more. I pray you find that partner to share it all with, it is so much more satisfying . Love this channel, it validates my choices. Keep sharing, it makes a difference.

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but do you know where to start with finding the right place? I’m almost 18 and I want to move out in a few years, but I’m worried the city life might be too expensive or emotionally draining for me, so I want to look into small towns or something like that :)

The Bible speaks of this way of living beautifully 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.” Bless The creator of all Lord of all Jesus Christ❤️ beautiful video miss 🙏🏾

This is exactly how I want to live, alone in the countryside.

I’ve always been a lover of the small things in life. When I was very small I thought helping my mom fold towels was the most fun thing ever lol.
