What do you think about using the grid method? Sometimes I would sketch the rough outline and sometimes I would just put a blob of colour and start from there. All of these with the grid on.
@SKYL001Ай бұрын
@@bintang4363 it's perfectly normal to use grid methods. I'd say whether you want to have that in your workflow depend upon your personal goals. Grids do take away some effort which could be rather used to develop your observational skills. If you wanna get better at sketching freehand then grids should be avoided. BUT it's definitely NOT cheating to use Grids. Ignore anyone who says so. People ir professional artist's use projectors to trace so the work can be completed faster. As long as it looks good in the end, you are golden 😂

What brushes do you normally use for portrait painting?
@SKYL00116 күн бұрын
@@papermeetsmompi after trying many fancy brushes I found out that round brush is really majority of what works for me. I sketch with the stock brushes ( procreate pencil ) and then painting is like 90% just a round brush. For smudging I use some airbrushes or the free ones in the brush kit by Angel Ganev. It helps out a lot with giving it a little painterly texture
