Hey for the con in the software part - press shift when you are on that slice and press extract(f2). I really recommend reading through that manual like a textbook. This is the best MPC ever in my opinion.

I just re-watched and saw you wanted to use the split function. So nevermind above. You could still do it that way by having a new sample and splitting it with non destructive chop

Yeah that's the first thing I did when I had that issue a while ago but didn't see anything. Not a big deal but it would be cool to be able to slice a slice non-destructive.

2500 is the best mix of old-world MPC combined with something modern enough to not be a pain when it comes to transferring samples. I use it as a DAWless sketch pad for everything from making unique drum loops I can then record into my DAW or sometimes for near-finished tracks. While I’d quite like a Live or an X-those feel like ‘DAWs in a box’ with much of the ‘option paralysis’ that plagues DAW-based music. If I want all the easy timestretching of a modern MPC i can just work in the DAW directly without the overkill of MPC software running as a VST.

@ushnicyuvnikof27483 ай бұрын
Definitely not better, the 2000 and 2000XL are better built, they last a life time all parts are available to fix everything on them. The 2500 was made by inmusic not Akai, it's a poorer and less sustainable for life product, the only advantage are a few features on the OS if you use jj, but the 2000XL has everything I need anyway. I've used both over the years and much prefer a 2000XL.

Mpc 2500 jjos has the best workflow I would say. I really miss my 2500se. I 'm actually looking into getting another sampler. Maybe a MPC 3000, but I do love the 2500 and the 4000. I did not like the jog wheel a ton for editing like you said. Even to today with my MPC I use the + and - for editing. I just got used to it from my 2500 from years ago. I wish Akai would've revisited the MPC 1000 & 2500, and modernized the design and improve it. The new ones Akai recently came out with is okay, but in my opinion, the designs are terrible.

You don't like the MPC live 2 design?
@alfredschnozzenstein16572 жыл бұрын
@@ameeromedia5883 Honestly, no. I like the design where the screen was on "top" of the buttons and pads; similar to MPC 100 & 2500. I fell in love with Akai MPC Studio Black, but at this point, that MPC (from what I've read online and heard) is dated and not worth purchasing. Until then, I'll either invest in the old school MPC (leaning more towards the MPC 1000), or wait to see if Akai will come out with new MPC's.

@alfredschnozzenstein16572 жыл бұрын
@@ameeromedia5883 You know, I would say that because I'm more hands on, I could at least get more control on the drums and samples when it comes to the MPC, but creating drums with just a keyboard and software is a little tough. But to answer your question, the pads depend on the MPC 2500. If you get the thick pads, they feel soft and amazing. The regular pads are stiff.

If you use Midi Equipment you shouldn't use Jjos, it's fucking up your latency and the midi timing is not rock solid any more.
@mareikemacinnes77642 жыл бұрын
@@anonymous_friend From different forums. Heard it multiple times from JJo's users over the years. The Akai Mpc 2500 has a latency of 0.02ms (Litmus test by Innerclock Systems). By using JJos, this latency value apparently deteriorates to several milliseconds in some cases. The whole n modern MPC (Live, Live2, One) have the same problem, the latency values are very bad. I think it's the range of features. By that I mean that the more complex an MPC becomes, the better the codes and algorithms of the operating system have to be. JJ is a great programmer, but there's a reason Akai has a room full of JJs to develop good operating systems! ;) Whoever works with Midi should use the last official operating system from Akai. Greetings from Germany

@@mareikemacinnes7764 i think the akai standalones fixed that issue via update. As long as they are not being controlled all is good. Still some slave latency issues still i think tho. Signal wise all should be good now.
