I seriously consider this channel to be one of the best things that happened on the internet this year, at least to me. I'm 30 years old and a big Stevo fan since 2003, when my uncle rented the first Spider-Man DVD and I saw this dude on the "What We're All About" video.

My favorite part about Travis' drumming is how subtle he is at creating little details within his drum parts, that by repeating them every time the section shows up simply become an unmistakable part of the riff itself. The two crashes in the intro on the and-of-1 and the 3 of the 3rd bar is a perfect example of this. I cannot imagine this song's groove without those. Absolutely genius! Great cover, Steve!

As a drummer... I'm always asked who I think is the best drummer today... and the usual names go up. Mike Portnoy, Danny Carey, Chris Pennie, Ben Koller.... and even like, unconventional names like Senri Kawaguchi, or even Brian Blade.... but I always hear the proverbial needle scratch the minute I mention Travis Barker. Respect where it's absolutely due, Travis Barker is one of the greatest drummers in both punk, popular music, and just rock n roll in general. I'll die on that hill.

Stevo, love these videos man. I am just about to hit 40 now, got two boys myself and used to play drums in a pop punk and “screamo” band back in early 2000s. I relate to your story being a dad myself with pre-teens, who also stopped playing after my first kid was born. Now, I am forcing myself to properly re-learn techniques on drumming that I didn’t have patience for growing up. Back then we just wanted to jam and play shows and didn’t have KZbin to teach us everything like kids have now. Your music and Blink definitely played a big role and impact on how we wrote and played. I feel lucky to have experienced the pop punk scene in all its glory. Thanks for the videos, it brings me back!

As a kid from Toronto, I didn’t even know you guys were Canadian for a while, mostly because I saw Jerry Finn produced All Killer and figured probably Cali. It was very encouraging to find out you all came from close. Man you realize how popular Sum 41 are now. Everyone knows Sum 41. You literally are always going to be mentioned in the same breath as Blink. Just 4 guys from Ajax. Conquered the world. Great job Steve! That song has some tough fills. Travis is one of my favorite human metronomes too.

Dude you are easily as good as Travis! When i first heard DTLI it blew my mind.

I wouldn't go that far but I appreciate it! I like the drumming on DTLI too - my fav sum record. Thanks for watching!
@MikePierceyMusicАй бұрын
@@stevo32drums I remember reading a while back that DTLI had to be re-recorded. I do love the way it sounds, but I’ve been wondering since how different it could have sounded. Is there any chance you have any of the original recordings ? That could make a really cool video!

Sum 41 is actually where I got my taste for pop punk! Thank you so much Steveo for all the awesome music you guys made. You are the reason I started drums (and a big reason I started guitar) with you amazing drumming and awesome energy in your videos (First sum 41 song I ever heard was In Too Deep, still my favourite to this day). Are you planning on playing with Sum 41 again (yes I know they disbanded) or are you potentially going to talk about your departure from Sum 41? Can't wait for more videos!

I wasn’t a drummer but I played bass. I never knew how to read music but always watched other people cover songs and that’s how I would learn. But my main ones were almost every blink 182 so songs and sum 41. Thank you for this! It deff took me back!
