I seriously consider this channel to be one of the best things that happened on the internet this year, at least to me. I'm 30 years old and a big Stevo fan since 2003, when my uncle rented the first Spider-Man DVD and I saw this dude on the "What We're All About" video.

Travis' ability to constantly create hooks within songs is pure talent in music, but him removing any and all ego for the sake of the song when creating a simple, yet pitch perfect drum loop for their most influential piece of art, I Miss You, is pure love in music ❤

TOYPAJ was one of my earliest album purchases as a 12yo with pocket money to burn and all killer no filler not long after. To have you, the former drummer of Sum 41 and current drummer in your basement play songs from such seminal works of yours and other bands of the time is so amazing and I’m grateful for it. My favorite part about Travis' drumming is how subtle he is at creating little details within his drum parts, that by repeating them every time the section shows up simply become an unmistakable part of the riff itself. The two crashes in the intro on the and-of-1 and the 3 of the 3rd bar is a perfect example of this. I cannot imagine this song's groove without those. Absolutely genius! Great cover, Steve!

As a drummer... I'm always asked who I think is the best drummer today... and the usual names go up. Mike Portnoy, Danny Carey, Chris Pennie, Ben Koller.... and even like, unconventional names like Senri Kawaguchi, or even Brian Blade.... but I always hear the proverbial needle scratch the minute I mention Travis Barker. Respect where it's absolutely due, Travis Barker is one of the greatest drummers in both punk, popular music, and just rock n roll in general. I'll die on that hill.

Stevo, love these videos man. I am just about to hit 40 now, got two boys myself and used to play drums in a pop punk and “screamo” band back in early 2000s. I relate to your story being a dad myself with pre-teens, who also stopped playing after my first kid was born. Now, I am forcing myself to properly re-learn techniques on drumming that I didn’t have patience for growing up. Back then we just wanted to jam and play shows and didn’t have KZbin to teach us everything like kids have now. Your music and Blink definitely played a big role and impact on how we wrote and played. I feel lucky to have experienced the pop punk scene in all its glory. Thanks for the videos, it brings me back!

Brother, I’ve been on a journey tonight… I was down a rabbit hole of prime Sum41 and early 2000’s punk/pop-punk/alternative shit. It made me remember one of the greatest behind the scenes tour life type videos of all time, that was the sum41 campus invasion tour, or more accurately the “sum farty one anus invasion tour” thank you for the fuckin face melting chest crushing beats, and the bulk of the hilarious shenanigans you got into on that tour and for filming it hahaha. I’m glad I found your channel here now, I’ve been a fan for easily the last 20 years, and I’m glad to see we both made it out of the 2000’s alive hahaha

I remember when I was about 15 I was walking past Steve’s Music on Queen St and all of a sudden you just went by me. And I said Stevo! And you gave me a high 5. I was wearing famous stars and straps gear, as one did back then. As a kid from Toronto, I didn’t even know you guys were Canadian for a while, mostly because I saw Jerry Finn produced All Killer and figured probably Cali. It was very encouraging to find out you all came from close. Man you realize how popular Sum 41 are now. Everyone knows Sum 41. You literally are always going to be mentioned in the same breath as Blink. Just 4 guys from Ajax. Conquered the world. Also Brownsound got me into Metallica which was the singly biggest influence in me wanting to learn to shredddd. Wonder if you’re still in this area or if you were too enticed by California weather. I wouldn’t blame you!

Steve! You've always had incredible shot gun meter and excellence on grooves, man excellent work here! I have had a OCDP kit they made for me back in 1999 haha back when Daniel was alot younger and was totally obsessed with making vented snares, man the 20py maple vented 7.5 inch snare and the kick and toms sounds huge. Even today people still ask about the snare, and the kick also massive low end too. Hey I love your tuning in this vid too man, such great content!!

Love this!!! Being someone who was just about to leave everything and go on tour in my early 20s only to find out i was becoming a new father and chose to stay and raise my daughter, I've always liked to hear folks on the other side of that story who had the life and gave it up for family. Good on you sir, appreciate it and look forward to the video!!

Sum 41 is actually where I got my taste for pop punk! Thank you so much Steveo for all the awesome music you guys made. You are the reason I started drums (and a big reason I started guitar) with you amazing drumming and awesome energy in your videos (First sum 41 song I ever heard was In Too Deep, still my favourite to this day). Are you planning on playing with Sum 41 again (yes I know they disbanded) or are you potentially going to talk about your departure from Sum 41? Can't wait for more videos!
