Congratulations on getting married. I just moved to Berlin and I love it also. Funny enough I haven't done anything touristy since I moved, this gave me the idea to try the walking tour. And yes, the ticket checking system in Berlin is relaxed, no one checks if you have a ticket but you are supposed to validate your ticket on your own. Inspectors do come on trains unexpectedly though and you do not want to be caught without a ticket, so people just follow the rules.

Congratulations! You all did a great job with this amount of money! $4500 for 10 days is spectacular and can EASILY be $4500 for a week in Europe at those same hotels depending on peak season prices. The bulk of that was transportation and accommodation which is to be expected. This doesn’t even include European shopping sprees that can also eat through a trip. 🤣

Will remember to look for walking tours for my next trip :D One tiny editing comment, it was sometimes confusing to know what the prices of the activity was when the receipt window popped up, like around 6 : 05 when both dinner and hotel were added together during a dinner clip. Also if possible I'm curious to see the normal prices of the activities that you got for $0.

As a Dutch person, I don’t really like Amsterdam anymore either. It has become a themepark for tourists. There just some parts I really do like, but you need to go out of your way. I would recommend going to other cities that aren’t ruined by tourists much. Rotterdam is unique, nice restaurants and good museums. Utrecht is recommend as it’s very center, but not on Saturday’s (too busy). Haarlem is soooo cute, close to Amsterdam. To name a few.

I agree! It’s so important to get outside of the city center. Even in Berlin, I booked a hotel in Spandau and it was a fantastic experience! In Amsterdam I didn’t spend more than 5 minutes in the red light district, and instead went outside of the city center. Enjoyed it!

Aaah, I have followed you for a while and I am from Porto!! I wish I knew!! :P At the intro you mixed Porto and Lisbon haha, Porto is in the north. Did you try red porto wine ( vinho tinto) ? I think it is better than other ones you mentioned, green and rosé. Porto is my favourite city ever. And Portuguese food is the best :D Have you tried francesinha?? I hope you enjoyed and come back to Porto!!

The one thing to watch out for big-time in Berlin is that you MUST validate your train ticket, or you will get a 60-euro fine no matter what. Even if you bought your ticket that day, they don't care and will assume you are trying to re-use a past ticket to get free transit. It's a terrible tourist-trap situation as it isn't explained well anywhere

Hotels were booked like a month in advanced, the train tickets only 3 weeks in advance We didn't get travel insurance

You can compare the train from Berlin to Amsterdam to a fight in terms of reservations. The later you book, there are less tickets and they are more expensive.

I spent a month in Germany both in the cities of Berlin and Hamburg as a solo black girl last year. I absolutely agree that Berlin was spectacular and felt to livable as a NYer myself. Hamburg was also great and walkable as well. I took pictures of most of my food because majority(1 was disappointing) of the food I tried were all amazing there.

We went in June! We booked most of the trains across different counties in advance about 3 weeks before we arrived in Europe

You can buy tickets even on the day you wish to travel, but then the price gets like 3-4 times higher than if you buy few days in advance

I'm just curious, when you go to a nice restaurant and you think the food is super gross, do you decline the food or try to muster through it? I always feel uncomfortable when I'm in this situation because I don't want to come across as rude or ungrateful but if the food is making me gag... 🤢 Love your videos btw. ☺️

This time we didn't say anything, but usually I'll just be straight forward because why should you pay for something you didn't like and won't eat! I've had waiters be understanding and bring out a replacement but sometimes you still get charged for the item

Your trip was $450.00 a day if you break the price down per day, not bad. I am an Airbnb person so I would have saved a little on accommodations and I eat at places locals frequent to lower costs.

We used to almost exclusively stay in Airbnb when we traveled but recently we've been feeling like they are almost as costly as hotels especially if you include cleaning fee and misc expenses some airbnbs add to their listings...

15:03 the city in Nigeria and the town in Portugal share the same name, but they're pronounced differently. Lah-goss is the Portuguese town. LAY-GOES is the Nigerian city. Their common name derives from the Portuguese word "lagoa" which means "lagoon". If you ever watched _Captain America: Civil War_ they continuously mispronounced the name of the Nigerian city (where they were fighting in the beginning of the movie) as the Portuguese town.
