My gunny elmax has a very different belly-line than the one my friend has. I think it is caused by hand sanding at bark river. every knife is a bit different, some more than others. I wonder if an assymetrical grind in the form of one side full convex and one side micro bevel would be good at a thin hunting knife like your fox river lt. happy hunting and best to you!

virtuovice, I believe the problems you had with 3V is due to the poor heat treatment of the steel. 3V is a proven very tough steel. It looks to me Bark River does not have the experience with 3V they have with A2. 3V steel with excellent heat treatment should not chip by simply touching the bone. 3V knives were batoned heavily without chipping which is more severe than skinning a deer. Now if the edge is very thin, micro chipping becomes more dependent on the heat treatment. If chipping is very small, it is more likely due to the high Vanadium carbides in the steel and this is normal and all high Vanadium steels chips to a certain degree. If the chips are relatively large, blame the poor heat treatment not the steel.

Anyone else get Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) from listening to Wakosan's voice? I find it incredibly relaxing watching his videos.

I would like to see your comparison of one of your zero convexed regular fox rivers against a fox river LT with a bit steeper of a sharpening angle for strength (a micro-bevel I guess you could call it). Purely for performance considerations, ignoring the difficulties you have with stropping it.

I'm wondering what your progressive opinion is on elmax vs. 3V? I can't decide which one to go with. Thanks!

Nice video with a lot of info on knifes. I would like to have your point of view on the Lam.CoS steel by fallkniven. F1 Pro looks a good mid range price/quality value, don't you think so?

would love if you did a review on the cold steel master hunter in cpm 3v. im thinking of buying one and would love your input and thoughts. please review and do a wood cutting test with it?

+Modernbushcraft I don't think that's his kind of knife. Looks good overall, though more similar to Fallkniven offerings.

I have found the "super steels" to mostly be chippy on low angles. I have to wonder about the definition of super steel....

ur mind may think it feels thinner because it weighs less.
