Yeah, it's gratifying to see one that's good at their job. A lot of times, you get a petty little tyrant on a power trip about codes and permits.

@@Unpainted_Huffhines actually, the majority of people who work in these positions are really decent people. It’s just a small number of people who make them all look bad. If you want to read about wonderful public servants check out Michael Lewis’s book “The Fifth Risk.” at first, I thought it was just going to be about the first Trump administration and the way that the new department heads just didn’t show up, but it ended up being about story after story after story of incredible every day people who have worked for all these different departments in the government because they have a special talent in that field. It really raised my admiration for our civil servants, who are basically unsung heroes.

I like the work you did making the sidewalk safe again and restoring views and neatness for the neighborhood. Your heart is even more tender after your years of struggle with your health. There is a man, Just Knate, who started helping the homeless. He began by passing out socks, talking his customer's into "buy a pair and I'll give another one away". Over time, he learned to remember homeless peoples names, problems, goals and he keeps an eye on people over years. Now, he will say, "What can I do for you today that will help?" Often it is clothes, food, shoes, a (quietly colored) tent or tarp, a sleeping bag, a hygiene backpack. Sometimes it is help getting ID renewed, a phone and charger, gas, cooking or heating fuel, etc., even a desperately needed break of a night in a motel and a chance to shower. They are on a journey, one way or another, and what they really need at a given time, means a lot to them in caring and recognition. Best wishes.

You got me with this one, sir, on multiple fronts. If it was just the amazing job you did on the sidewalk, I would thank you sincerely as a disabled senior who pushes a rollator walker with a seat and needs to rest every l'il bit because I tire quickly. I always appreciate a clear walkway. That would be one thing. But then you were so generous and kind to this family who really needed the help. I have been there too. As a single mother, I have been homeless with my children more than once. It's really hard. There's a lot of judgment and obstacles. It is NOT about being lazy or strung out. I was not either of them. I had a job and a car and all I could do was break even not get out in front of my circumstances. It can happen to literally anyone. And the ONLY way to get back up is by the kindness of other people. It's a beautiful thing. Thank you for taking the time to talk with and help this family as well as giving this young father a chance to be a provider. It matters. Looking forward to watching the rest of the story unfold. Stay strong and positive. You are making a difference, Al. Thank you so much.

Al, you are one of God's Angels here on Earth. That was such a kind and loving thing you did for that family. I hope that maybe they will be able to help you with your next video's and this will turn into something wonderful for those people. I sure have missed you on here and hope we get to see more of you in the future. You need an honorable award from cities you go into and help clean up their towns and make them look good again. You are such a kind and loving person and so is your wife and children. I enjoy you so much.

I’m a single female who raised two boys and after college moved to Mississippi and lived in my car for two months. I know how hard and difficult it is , this is a lovely family. I donated, but could not donate much. I wish them well and Al you are an angel.
