I can't help but disagree; Amy's romantic feelings for Sonic are an essential aspect of her character. Given how differently she must have been raised in this movie universe though, I believe her feelings for Sonic and on the concept of love and admiration are something that should develop as the film progresses. In fact this might be one of the few versions of Sonic that might be somewhat interested in pursuing some kind of romantic relationship since he's never been in contact with a female member of his species; I'm pretty sure Tom's gonna give him "The Talk" in this next film XD

Amy's romantic feelings for Sonic are intrinsic to her character. Every version of Amy out there likes Sonic (the way she displays it differs). If you remove that, it's not Amy. Plus, there's no way they would steer away from that aspect also from the point of view of how much fans love the Sonamy ship and want to see it, it's way too popular.

I think this quote from an interview with the writers makes this more likely: "Including her in the franchise opened some things up, because Sonic went from a completely lonely little kid to he gained a family, he gained friends and teammates and arch foes. *But, what's going to be the biggest challenge he's faced so far? I actually have a theory of who created Metal Sonic/ Who will replace eggman as the big bad for Sonic 4. I think it might be Director Rockwell because in Sonic 3, she seems to already have a dislike for Team Sonic even before she thinks they killed Commander Walter's, and at the end of the movie Team Sonic didn't repair their relationship with G.U.N so it's very likely that Rockwell used G.U.Ns resources and maybe some old Eggman tech to build a army of Metal Sonics to destroy Team Sonic. If anyone can add to this theory, I'd love to hear the ideas, and if you disagree with me, that's completely OK because I'd like to hear why you disagree with me

I think metal sonic might be a failsafe Eggman made in case of death during his hiatus between 2 and 3. I also had an idea that Agent Stone would be the one to build it (he's the only person in the scu still alive that could match Eggman’s intellect, according to the prequel comic where he takes over the Mean Bean Machine) with GUN'S support since Rockwell does not hide her disdain for team sonic (unless he turns them down out of respect for team sonic; there was a bit of that in the movie)

Same, tho I do want to narrow it down. I think the best for the new Additions would be: Metal sonic, Rouge, Amy, and maybe Cream. And the potential advantage with rouge is that they can add her in the potential spin-offs like shadow and knuckles S2, so there won’t be too much needed development for her. Besides that, I’m not sure about omega, Big and team chaotix. I think it would be a bit too much for the movie alone, but they could work for spin-offs

Sonic 4 should be about Metal Sonic trying to take over the world and build his own robot empire, in an Age of Ultron style. And Sonic and Amy's relationship should be similar to the relationship between Mario and Peach in the 2023 movie, where they balanced out between being friends and slight love interests. Shadow and Robotnik shouldn't really return in the fourth movie, as Shadow can have his own spin-off movie and return in the fifth movie, while Robotnik either stays dead or is in hiding. Sonic 5 should be the movie to introduce Silver and potentially Mephiles as the villain. On a side note, have James Spader as Metal Sonic (if he has a voice) and Kimiko Glenn as Amy.

My idea for what a perfect 4th movie could be Metal Sonic gets created by Dr Eggman and uses the time stones to travel 200 years into the future to destroy the world as Metal Overload. Silver The Hedgehog comes back in time and mistakes Metal Sonic for Sonic believing that he caused it. Metal Sonic kidnaps Amy and that forces Sonic and Silver to team up to find where she got taken to and they all eventually have some big fight scene to defeat Metal Sonic.

I watched Sonic 3 yesterday in theaters (it premiered a bit later in my country), and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! The last time I felt this emotional about watching a movie from a franchise I love so much was with Transformers One. But now that I’ve seen the movie and the post-credits scene, I can finally come to here and share my theory about what might happen in the fourth movie, especially since it’s officially confirmed to premiere in the spring of 2027. I’m terrible with words, but hear me out! After seeing Metal Sonic and Amy in the post-credits scene-and knowing that Shadow is alive-I had to watch a long video about Sonic’s chronological story to refresh my memory. One part of the video touched on Sonic Heroes, and considering that Sonic 3 is essentially a movie version of Sonic Adventure 2 (with some differences, of course), it’s very likely that Sonic 4 could resemble Sonic Heroes, though with some differences. For instance, who created Metal Sonic if Eggman is dead? Possible Origins of Metal Sonic in Sonic 4 1. Eggman’s Project: Eggman likely created Metal Sonic long before his death, considering he had Sonic’s energy quill for a long time. However, after the humiliation he suffered in Sonic 2 when he was defeated by Super Sonic, Eggman may have abandoned the Metal Sonic project. He could’ve left the original Metal Sonic-along with his other prototypes (as seen in the post-credits scene, which shows designs that differ from the original Metal Sonic)-sealed or stored somewhere. Then, perhaps Agent Stone reactivates Metal Sonic as a way to avenge his doctor. 2. Director Rockwell’s Scheme: Alternatively, Director Rockwell (the soldier who appears in Sonic 3 and dislikes both Sonic and Eggman) might secretly create a clone of Sonic to get revenge-possibly for the humiliation she faced and the destruction of the Eclipse Cannon. She may have intended to use the cannon for malicious purposes, like world domination or, lol, destroying Earth. Metal Sonic’s Story Arc Given these circumstances, Metal Sonic could turn against his creators and attempt to destroy Sonic on his own. Eventually, he might evolve into Neo Metal Sonic and then Metal Overlord. With the help of Amy, possibly Shadow (since he survives), and his team-Tails and Knuckles-the five could ultimately defeat Metal Overlord. Rouge’s Possible Inclusion I don’t think Rouge would appear in the fourth movie, even though she’s an important character. She’s more of a secondary character, and her inclusion might feel forced since her role is often limited to stealing Chaos Emeralds. Adding too many characters in one movie could distract from the main storyline. However, she could appear later in a Shadow spin-off, which is rumored to be an adaptation of the Shadow the Hedgehog game. Or she could make a brief appearance at the end of Knuckles Season 2, which has already been confirmed and might introduce the Chaotix Team (but that’s a topic for another post). Rouge’s Role Would Be Unnecessary To me, Rouge’s appearance in the fourth or even fifth movie would feel unnecessary and forced. While I like the character, in the series and games, she’s mainly there to steal Chaos Emeralds and doesn’t play a significant role in the bigger picture. That’s just my opinion, though! I see them mixing Heroes, CD, and Silver’s story into one big narrative. Metal Sonic alone wouldn’t be an interesting threat and he wouldn’t have enough power on his own to take on the roster. But if Silver and Blaze are there, it makes it easier for Metal Sonic to interact with Silver to go with the mission of defeating Sonic, and provide a force that is too hard for Sonic to go through on his own.

Amy’s character development started in Adventure. Backslid a little bit in Sonic Adventure 2, but still was pretty much consistent. Her character development was completely screwed in Sonic Heroes. As a die hard Amy fan, I’m happy her love for Sonic is no longer her one note. I’m not saying I don’t want her to love Sonic anymore, I just think she has a lot more to offer than just simping over Sonic. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Sonic Frontiers is definitely the perfect balance!

@@Therealones745, I certainly don’t view her that way. The writers did. That WAS her dominant trait. That’s how she was written for a good majority of the 2010’s. What makes Amy a great character is: Her compassion, her loyalty, her standing up for what she believes in unapologetically, her strong sense of justice, and her ability to see the best in others and help them see it themselves. I really like Frontiers Amy. Adventure Amy has been my personal favorite and I think they’re finally getting back to that. I’m not saying Frontiers Amy is perfect, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. Remember when Sonic physically held her back in the original Sonic Generations? Or when she talked about beating him into submission down the aisle to marry her in Heroes? Don’t even get me started how she was depicted in Free Riders… How is that not sexist and misogynistic?? I AM a die hard Amy fan and I can acknowledge that her character was handled poorly by the writers for YEARS. The switch began with Sonic Boom. Her character is fantastic in IDW. I think Ian Flynn really knows what he’s doing with her character and I think it’ll only get better moving forward. I’m glad she’s finally getting the recognition she’s always deserved. She’s always been a great character and it was always there… They just fixated and dramatized the fan girl part…

So unless mephiles gets introduced and travels back in time to stop knuckles from killing him, silver can't possibly can't happen with out him, unless they give him a new backstory and reasoning for traveling back in time. I would rather have Shadow in his own movie and save movie 4 for just Amy and Metal Sonic. I don’t really want Shadow in the next Sonic movie as to not overstay his welcome and take potential spotlight away from the characters introduced in 4. Shadow getting his own movie might be a great way to do both. That and to not overcrowd movie 4. What I like is them taking each Sonic movie to deep dive into a specific character like with Shadow in movie 3. I hope the themes and characters bounce off each other. I wouldn’t mind them making Amy a potential love interest like in the games. Sorta what they did with Boom Amy in a way I guess if I could compare it to something. I would like it to be like that where her relationship with Sonic is very established and it’s clear they are both equals to each other. Now, honestly I would kinda like the roles be a little reversed, meaning Sonic gains a massive crush of Amy, while Amy does do little flirts with him while still being her own character. Knuckles:When you mention knuckles chaotics I thought of this what if in between the making of sonic four we get another knuckles season where they introduce the chaotics. Keep in mind knuckles chaotic was its own game similarly knuckles. The series is its own spinoff series away from the movies in my eyes that seems like the perfect way to introduce the characters Sonic 4: they can really go two options with this directive route they can really go sonic CD or the more likely story that they could do is sonic heroes seeing that metal sonic is the main villain in that game. Although I do agree with you saying that Amy should have a totally different character having her fall in love with sonic is something that is way too iconic with her personality just getting rid of it altogether does not make Amy. There can be a way where she is her own character, but still containing the traits that all a means we know in love having common. With the sonic heroes route I think that’s really the best option. Seeing as we could get more characters such as omega and rouge on team dark and team Rose with Amy cream and big the cat. Multiple times throughout the movie is constantly teased about team sonic if that’s not a foreshadow then I don’t know what it is. Now Eggman can come back with this theory that I came up with when shadow was pushing space colony arc or the death rate away from the Earth what if in the nick of time, shadow uses chaos control, and gets Eggman out of the blast before it can ever explode to me that honestly makes the most sense if Dr. Eggman were to be still alive. But if he didn’t end up surviving sonic heroes would have to be the definitive route for the movie. Silver: if they do decide to make a sonic movie five then Silverwood play a big role because at this point we really time jumped a lot of of the sonic series, but they’ve done it in such a short amount of time. Sonic 1 was just the introducing of sonic Indy cinematic universe, sonic to introduce some game elements like knuckles tails, and most importantly the chaos emeralds. Sonic three continued on that but added shadow and a lot of sonic adventure two story. Sonic four can have a sonic heroes approach as listed in the paragraph above and you can read that to see what I have to say. Sonic five can introduce silver and go the route of sonic 06 where at first silver thing sonic is the cause of all the pain and suffering in his timeline but soon realizes it was a Ibliss and sonic shadow and silver team up against him or they could do the sonic 06 approach where they have to fight a time, eternal deity in order to save both timelines in a way. I don’t know how that would work only time will tell. Spin off: if sonic four is the definitive last movie of the sonic cinematic universe in theaters we could get a sonic spinoff series like they did with sonic boom but still continuing the sonic cinematic storing line that is if they do not make a sonic and introduce silver sonic five to come out then that would have to be the last movie because it would make sense to start a spinoff series at that point. Having a spinoff series would be great to keep the franchise going and for people to continue to love the sonic cinematic universe universe. Also it can continue character development for characters like shadow, Amy, and silver if he does make an appearance.

Agree with many of the points mentioned in the video. Personally, I would not mind a romance dynamic between Sonic and Amy, though it should be balanced with other things so that her character isn't one-dimensional, as another commenter wrote. Despite this, I anticipate the pair will have a sibling-like dynamic considering that Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are treated like brothers by Tom and Maddie (kind of). I would love to see Jim Carrey return as Eggman/Robotnik for 4, thought that is ultimately his choice whether to return or not. I also thought your proposal for a Sonic X-style colliding of worlds, as that would make these very interesting, and could see certain characters being introduced as a result. In regards to Shadow, I do also believe a spin-off film is on the way, though this will not be a theatrical release like the main Sonic films, and could introduce other characters as well, like Rouge. Like many others, I do believe that 4 will be a loose adaption of CD and Heroes, and I believe that Metal Sonic will "evolve" into Metal Overlord, possibly being either the penultimate or final fight of the film. I predict Silver (and possibly Blaze) will be introduced in a post-credits scene, setting up for a fifth film.

As a big fan of Amy, I am very excited to see her in the next movie. That being said I really hope they handle her well. To me Amy has three components that make her such a charming character. One element they brought in here which excites me is her strength. I grew up on Sonic X Amy as well as Amy from Heroes and Advance. And each of those incarnations are very badass and strong. Able to fight with Sonic and crew and keep up with the core 4. Heck as much as I will criticize parts of her Boom incarnation I did like how in the TV Show and the Wii U game (not 3Ds that damsel her hard), she could fight and was part of the group as a fighter. And that is certainly something they are doing. Just seeing her destroy so many Metal really shows they are going this route and I am happy to see it. As for her other two traits they are yet to be seen but I hope they are included. One is her affinity for Sonic. Now you see me write affinity and not love for a reason. Amy looks up to Sonic, not just as a hero but as someone who she has tried to help on several occasions, and this could be what they are doing. Given her reaction to him in the film, I feel she will know of Sonic either from their world, the future (CD did have time travel so who knows it could work especially with an idea I have later to discuss), or even his feats in these movies. As for other aspects of her bond with Sonic I am unsure where they will go. As commenters pointed out in previous videos she could have a sisterly bond with him like Knuckles and Tails do. It would be a departure and potentially odd for fans but it could work well. They could go romantic since you don't want the two..umm..yeah..they could pull it as a crush. Honestly this has a lot of interesting routes in it’s own way, with the normal Amy crushes on him, having a Boom idea of both crushing on each other, or hell even going with Sonic having the crush after she saves him and reverse the dynamic. Especially since Sonic trying to look cool in front of her as the others laugh at his attempts could be cute. And given the movies have Sonic with mom and dad figures…well it could be very cute to see how they “help” Sonic. And of course they could go fully platonic which could still work even if I feel the romance angle can be so funny and cute if done well. As for the final component I want I have faith they will do it, but it is Amy’s compassion. Since she was first reintroduced by Adventure, she has been someone to see the good in others be it Gamma, Shadow, or even Silver. And while Movie Sonic has this too, especially with Shadow in Movie 3 before Tom gets hospitalized, I feel keeping this with Amy would make her endearing as all hell. If these three aspects can be properly done I feel we can get a great Amy in these movies! As for Metal I agree with you on the aspects of him needing to be intimidating. I hope they might pull from some Heroes aspects for him given that is the best main series example of Metal as a villain. Yet also deeper than you might think given his lines of dialogue, even if the OVA did a good job with him as well in some ways making him a Shadow in terms of sympathy. The only other thing I want is..well like you said someone else to have made him. Eggman had a great send off with a beautiful scene of color, emotion, and oddly finality to it. While yes he could return, I want if they do that for them to make him into an ally instead of a villain. As for the new big bad guy, I could see two ideas for Metal. One is to do a Dr. Eggman Nega from Rush. He is reckoned to be a descendant of him so it would still allow them to use Jim as an Eggman just not the present time one. Another idea though well is..GUN. The movie kinda ends ambiguous on Team Sonic’s relationship with them. Really it all depends on the agent who was injured and if he is alive. If he is they might not distrust them, if he isn’t well given this film ended the GUN stuff with the group breaking into their base and trust being very thin with them, I could see them making their own creation to stop Sonic in the future. It would be a nice way to keep this going and to have the consequences of the film stay alive. And as we have seen with the Knuckles show, you can have regular humans make tech to battle Sonic and crew with just a bit of their power. So it’s all very possible and very interesting. As for Shadow, I'm gonna be honest but I don’t want a movie focusing on him alone. Sonic is who I go to these movies for and Shadow I get is popular but I think just giving us a Knuckles Spinoff for him (hopefully more better though) could do all the fleshing out they need with him. Unless they wanna do Shadow the Hedgehog as an adaptation, which could be a good idea. All in all I hope Movie 4 is good and I have faith it will be. Though my expectations of it surpassing Movie 3 are rather low which helps to make sure I won’t be disappointed. And even still I just want it to be a fun movie and maybe the start to a new trilogy? Who knows but I am excited to see future news. And glad we at least know it’ll come out sometime in 2027 giving us ample time for theories and speculations which will be very good indeed.

My main hopes is that the movie will be somewhat based on sonic heroes, since that game Utilizes all of the OG cast. Having metal sonic(&neo), Amy and rouge. As for other characters, Cream would be nice. With the power of Sonic's quill, this machine can go as fast as Sonic and mimic his every move. So, Stone decides to put this project into action. He has Metal Sonic built, along with his clones to begin his quest for world domination in Robotnik's place. He even has Metal Sonic be in charge of everything. Which could go awry, and cause Metal to kick Stone out. Well one thing I do want in Sonic movie 4 is give us Mecha Sonic as the final boss seeing Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy fighting a giant mecha version of Sonic would be cool. However if Shadow does appear in Sonic 4 I would say replace Mecha with Neo Metal Sonic the reason for that is unless they're going to nerf Shadow I feel like if he's there the five of them would wreck Mecha Sonic. But Neo Metal Sonic is a different story this guy fought Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow 3 on 1 and giving them a hard time in the comics and you could save Metal Overlord as a stinger for Sonic 5 have a post credit where Neo survived and he collected bio data of Team Sonic with maybe a blueprint foreshadowing the Metal Overlord design. But if Shadow not going to be in 4 then I think Mecha Sonic would be a solid final boss for Sonic and crew to fight.

I want to see Sonic movie 4 to adapt elements from Sonic CD and Heroes, while also to be the start of a new trilogy themed all around time travel. The way Metal Sonic appears and the way he’s positioned looks very much like how the Terminator appears. So it seems there could be time travel in this movie and I can see this as the Age of Ultron of the series with a mix of Terminator. As for Shadow, I really want him to have his own movie and have it adapted from the Shadow the Hedgehog game. It would go so hard to see a live action Black Doom. Then maybe they can have that film introduced Team Dark with Rouge and Omega.

Sonic and Amy need romance, the fanbase made it cringe at times but it is one of the core elements in their relationship and can be done right if approached the right way, simple.

as soon as you mentioned Silver I smiled. Silver is my number one want for the Sonic movie universe. All the other wants I had have already happened. At this point I'd really be happy with anything they put out but JUST GIVE ME SILVER

I think they’ll hop off planet not only because it makes sense, or because the writers have said so, but because we’ve seen alot of our planet literally, Sonics fought all over the world, this movie took place in Japan, it could get stale if 4 was all on earth, I think a 50/50 movie makes sense!
