I love wild life, animal related topics, etc, and my favourite animal is the praying mantis. I use to capture some specimens and keep them on a terrarium, to throw them come roaches and to see them in their "eat-first-kill-later" approach. No shark, no lion, no animal at all has the voracity of this insect, they are the best, hands down.

I once found a mantis in my home. It landed on my cloths. I picked it up and held it in my hand. It didn't attack me. It even let me pet it and I just let it hang out on my cloths for a bit. Eventually I let it go outside.

I've always liked mantises. I saw one just this morning very much like the ones in these videos. I think they're kinda cute, at least when they're not disturbed. Plus they help my plants out, eating those nasty little bugs that RUIN my plants . . I always encourage mantises to hide on my plants.

I can confirm. Praying mantis aren't necessarily dangerous but fully capable of delivering a very painful bite if agitated. Its jaws are strong enough to go through fingernail.

I grew up in the Kenyan Savannah and never knew how dangerous the mantis really is. Locusts and mantis coexisted in the grassland and I thought they were friendly. Now I know.
