What If Ash Kept Primeape?

So we all remember the Pig Monkey Pokemon Ash caught way back in the early days of Kanto right? Well, he never went back for it and I know that as a Pokemon fan it ticked me off beyond compare that Primeape never came back. It had so much potential as a Pokemon and it could have more than likely helped Ash in more ways than we can grasp. I can dream though for it to come back and I have a what if scenario because of this dream where if Ash actually kept his primape! Man this is a great story. I think Ash would use it against Tobius' Latios (after Darkrai is taken out by Sceptile) and then Primeape takes it out with an ice punch, but then Pikachu still draws with the next Pokemon and Tobius still wins. Filthy cheat.

A What if about Ash never leaving ANY of his pokémon. -With the Pink Butterfree going with Misty, keeping the couple together and making Misty kind of surpass her Bug's fear. -Same Primerape stuff. -Haunter returning to Ash after (for example, after the seventh badge) because he missed him. -Pidgeot stayed with Ash because the Fearow decided to stay on Route 1, near the Ash's team so they can help them. -Lapras decided to stay with Ash to "growth" as a Pokémon and make his mum proud when he sees her again. -Squirtle returns from time to time, like Charizard. -Larvitar, with her mother permission, also stays with Ash for his Hoenn trip, and he mother decides to go to Oak's lab, as well as Lapras' mom. -Last both not least, both Goodra and Greninja stayed with Ash, because his new friends said to Ash they can defend both the region, including Goodra's place. As for changing region teams: -Ash counts with Primerape, Haunter, Butterfree and Pidgeot on Orange Islands and beyond. -Larvitar goes with Ash and the group thourghout Hoenn. -Greninja goes to Alola with Pikachu and Ash, because he's really close to Ash.

Those sound like pretty good ideas. In fact, with all those Pokémon from Kanto, Ash could even decide to use one of them in place of Charizard for his battle against Ritchie, allowing him to at least reach the top 8, maybe even the top 4 with help from Haunter. Plus, Primeape could even get into a fight with Charizard to call the latter out for being such an ungrateful jerk to Ash. Primeape could eventually get angry enough to power through Charizard's Flamethrower and unleash the mother of all Thrash attacks, forcing Ash to recall Charizard to prevent things from going too far. This could lead to Charizard working through his attitude problems sooner than canon. All of Ash's Pokémon mentioned above would also be able to aid him in the Orange Island challenges and League Battle. Really, they deserved some more spotlight. Pidgeot could even get into an epic aerial battle with Dragonite, outmaneuvering him with amazing speed and learning Razor Wind, but ultimately getting KO'd. And in Johto, Ash might have a chance of making it to the top 4 with his larger selection of Pokémon. Maybe he'd even be able to knock out more of Gary's Pokémon before sending out Charizard. Seriously, with his greater variety, I could see Ash pulling a few more fast ones on Gary to make the battle less one-sided. Hoenn could have Larvitar even evolve into Pupitar before or during his Gym Battle in Fortree City. Plus, Butterfree could serve as a mentor to May's Beautifly for Contest performances. As for Haunter, it could actually help Ash defeat Tyson using its love of jokes and newly learned Shadow Ball to defeat Metagross. It's as awesome and hilarious as it sounds. Lapras...could help Ash pursue some Team Aqua grunts and capture them, maybe allowing Ash to get clued in on the evil team's plans much sooner than usual. After the disaster in Kalos, Ash could actually stay with Greninja to help with the Zygarde incident. It's in Ash's nature to help someone in need and I'm pretty sure Ash didn't want to leave a friend behind. This could lead to a pretty cool story arc of Ash and Greninja teaming up to clean up the rest of Team Flare's mess and round up any escaped grunts or admins. Plus, they could work together to finally bring down those evil Malamar (who went completely ignored after their...second encounter?).

But this doesn't make sense for the most part because Bulbasaur was too afraid to evolve and Charizard was one of Ash's best Pokemon even though it didn't listen to him until much much later.

Yes, but the anime is different to the games, so I can kind of see why legendaries would be allowed in the leagues. However, it’s entirely obvious that Tobias was merely a plot device to stop ash from beating the league and advancing as a trainer- because for some retarded reason, the writers always forget that they could make him lose to the elite 4 or champion to keep his journey going.

One thing that would’ve been different is how Primeape would’ve kept charmeleon and then Charizard in line for how disrespectful they were to Ash upon evolving, as Primeape became more trusting of Ash after catching him from the P1 tournament. Following his orders and claiming victory in the tournament, but would certainly not stand by how disrespectful Charmeleon was to Ash if he brought him back from Anthony. Plus how Primeape could’ve taken care of Tobias’ darkrai in the Sinnoh league as Primeape being immune to attacks that cause sleep.

Here's a thought, what if James kept his magicarp? It was clearly close to evolving by the time he had it given all it took was a good kick for them to evolve. It would be interesting if Team Rocket managed to keep this powerful pokemon who could only really be defeated by Ash's Pikachu given the circumstances.

Here's a what-if scenario for you; what if Ash didn't trade Aipom? I like the idea that Ash doesn't get Gliscor (maybe Brock instead?) and catches Buizel instead of Dawn. Dawn would still get the six pokemon she finishes Sinnoh with. It's a very minor adjustment, but then also think about if Buizel evolved. Maybe combine those ideas into an episode?

I’ve always wondered why Larvitar had Hypothermia from the moment it was hatched. If you seen the episode “Hatch Me If You Can” you’d question yourselves that too. I mean, Larvitar’s life was in danger cause its temperature kept getting lower by the second and a dangerous storm and the Pokémon Center’s generator isn’t working (Even though the generator part was Team Rocket’s doing). Yeah just why was Larvitar’s temperature dangerously low from the moment it hatched?

There's no doubt that Primape would be way stronger but I think he would've had some hard time facing pokemon that are of different types. Since the place where he was left only had fighting types to train against he would pretty much be inexperienced when facing other types. Sure Ash could guide him during battles but I still think he would need to have some experience facing other types before we could consider him as a reliable pokemon to be used in extremely important matches.

It was very close and there is always one Pokémon that knocks you out despite the type disadvantage and Greninja did take less hits than Charizard, but that damage being dealt must've been really strong and it was stupid near the end of the entire match , but at least Greninja did put up a excellent fight despite losing and I was upset back then , but I am okay now even though that ending was cheesy and you can kinda blame Alain's Charizard despite it stumbling before the match was over and some of the episodes were rushed big time .
