I am writing a fanfic that attempts to make Ian Droid a more interesting character. I really liked what Ian Flynn did with Enerjak and I want to give Ian Brandon Anderson Droid the same treatment. By slowly having him turn into Tabuu from Super Smash Bros. There's plenty of biblical references in pre-boot. People speculated that the references serve no purpose but to appease Evangelicals, but in actually the Knuckles lore is a poorly written rehash of the Gnostic themes seen in Xenogears. So what was Ian Droid's long plan. It was to destroy the prime dimension and replace it with his own Frankenstein creation (Anti-Mobius). His plan and goals have many similarities to Sephiroth, except unlike Sephiroth his will doesn't overwrite his alien overlord, The End / Xordian Hive Mind because unlike Sephiroth, Ian Droid is a nobody who only renamed himself from Ivan Kintobor because he despises humanity. He has to find beings that have his will implanted on to overwrite the goals of The End. He however fails while manipulating events in the background using various characters that he has chosen to implant his will on that unintentionally leads to Sonic creating a new timeline instead. Mammoth Mogul can also sense his presence in the bad future Silver is trying to stop being known as both the Traitor and Anonymous at the same time. Do you think that Ian Brandon Anderson Droid / Tabuu should be the final boss of a fan continuation of Archie? I believe that alt-reality Archie still gets rebooted, but this reboot would be more about having a creation feel like more the property of Ian Flynn (It's IDW except Flynn doesn't lie about adding the Freedom Fighters back) rather than worrying about continuity from lots of past authors.

i think you've over-estimated CWC's sanity. He would not just accept not using Sonichu. (despite long since overshadowing the sonichu character for their own self insert for years before he was even discovered) and there's some precedent for this in their insistence on using "Simonla Rosechu", a character who's design he transparently stole from one of the people orbiting him at the time, the only major changes being making them more feminine, and blissfully missing the anime references of the original design. When called out, repeatedly, and explicitly for this, Chris *never* gave up. They ignored, avoided, obfuscated at first. Eventually he caved and killed off the character. Not before introducing a daughter whos the same god damn design only shorter. And then resurrecting Simonla like a comic later. And continuing to just ignore and avoid any callouts for this. So what would happen is he'd just keep insisting on adding sonichu to things. Explicitly in games and things at first, while hanging up on Nintendo's lawyers because "i need to go to a meeting" or "I left the oven on". Pumping out constant justification, information about how his delusional version of copyright law works. Maybe he'd eventually feel cornered enough and start noticing CWCSEGA haemorrhaging money from all the lawsuits, and he'd dial the yellow rat back a little. Keeping sonichu to promotional media, maybe a cameo in an episode or comic. (though he was basically just a cameo most of the time anyway, only now Chris wants to make the most of it, so ironically, sonichu is more prominent when he does show up). Chris would of course insist now the problem is completely solved. Because he's so creatively bankrupt and doesn't understand copyright or IP. He'd eventually start collecting lawsuits as mario and MLP characters, and various anime's, start shamelessly crossing over in his poorly written comics. Fortunately he's too lazy to draw all this so at least the art will be better. then he'd probably try to screw one of the cardboard cutouts of sonic characters in the office that he thinks are real, spiral in some other genuinely unpredictable but unmistakably chrischanny ways. And end up roughly where they are irl.

I think, while, yes, ofcourse, the Sonichu Character is copyright infringement, there might be a small chance of him getting away with the Name Sonichu alone. (Just the name, nothing else.) Chu means rat in japanese and Sonic is based on the latin word Sonus meaning Soundwave. So, I think there might be a chance that in Trademark law, it would be ruled that Sonichu does not infringe on Pokemons trademark. (Sega itself owns a trademark named Chu Chu Rocket about Mice.) And a japanese corporation which was not Sega got away with a character trademark called Soniko. And I thought THAT would clearly infringe on the Sonic trademark.
